Troy woke up. It was 5 A.M. He didn't want to get out of bed. Today was going to be extremely hard. He hated good-byes. They made him sad. He felt like a piece of him was missing. This was no longer his family home. Troy had so many memories rush over him. He was going to miss this place so much. This is where he had grown from a boy to a man. He had told his friends he was leaving early today. No one showed up to say goodbye. They were most likely still sleeping. They weren't losing everything, so why should they care. Troy decided it was probably better they didn't say goodbye. Troy wasn't in the mood for awkward handshakes & tears. Troy got his carry-on ready. He wanted to make sure he had lots of distractions on the plane. The last thing he wanted to do was think about life. Life always had a way of surprising Troy. He looked around his room one more time. He thought about his new room. Would it ever feel like home? Troy's mom came to the door, to tell him it was time to leave. He tried to hold back tears, but they poured down his cheeks. His mom gave him a hug, & told him he'd be ok. This is the fresh start everyone needs. This experience is what you make it. Everything takes time. As he left the room, he whipered good-bye old friend. Thanks for the memories! A taxi waited out front, to take Troy & his mom to the airport. This was it.
