"Okay. We're on the red team. Got it?" Matrix said after explaining the game to me. I nodded in return. Did I really get it?

No

It's not every day you get told you're going to play capture the flag to the death. The horn blew and I followed Matrix into the woods. I sadly lost her in the crowd. I did what my mom told me to do when ever we were parted in a big crowd. Wonder around until I find someone who actually wants me. As I was walking around I found the PERFECT tree to climb. I started to climb it when I heard a voice cry out.

"Hey! Get off my tree!" said a lady who had pale green skin. She had long dark green hair and wore a flowing dress that went down to her knees.

"Your tree?" I said sitting down on a branch.

"Yes!"

"I don't see your name on it," I told her looking around.

"Gods! What are you? New?"

"Mayyyybe?" I said trying to tell if that was an insult or not. She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

"No wonder. I am a nymph. This is my life source. And you're climbing it."

"Oh my god! I am so sorry!" I said jumping down from it. I ran away embarrassed yelling out apologizes. As I was running an arrow landed in the tree right in front of them. I slowly turned my head to the direction it came from, "Excuse me?" I put my hands on my hips, "can someone not just enjoy a run in the woods without trying to die?! Has your mother taught you no proper manners?" I yelled out into the void. I waited for a response that never came, realizing that I may be talking to no one, I continued walking. I threw my hands in the air, "unbelievable!" I yelled in frustration. Soon enough someone appeared from the bushes, "Where do you think you're going?" I looked up from my feet. There was a girl with light brown that went down to her belly button and she had bangs that covered her brow. She wore high wasted mom jean shorts and a tie dyed loose fitted shirt that was tied in a knot at her hip with a hip. I shrugged, "Honestly. I am sorta lost. I don't know what I am doing so I'm waiting for some to tell me what to do." She studied my face.

"Just turn around and walk the other way," she said.

"There's my orders," I told her before turning around and walked the other way. I looked up to hear someone yell look out. Someone pushed me to the side. I stood up and brushed my basketball shorts off. When I looked up I saw a dude around my age trying to fight a big black dog with his sword. I knew Newfoundland dogs were big but not this big.

"Don't you ever look up?" he asked me.

"Not really!" I said motioning to what was happening right now, "If I was looking up would we really be in this situation?" He glanced over at me with a glare like he was ready to leave me to defend myself.

"Where is your weapon?" he yelled back before another kid came along and yelled at the dog. The kid had shaggy long hair that was tied back in to a mini pony tail. He wore dark ripped jeans and a Ramones shirt.

"We talked about this!" said the new boy in a disappointing tone to the dog. The dog bowed his head and the boy pointed away.

"I'm gonna take care of this. I'll catch up to you later Will." He waved goodbye and walked away next to the dog.

"Bye!" Will called out before turning to me, "so you really don't have a weapon? And you have been here how long?" I noticed that he had tanned skin and spread over his face was freckles. He had sort of long blond curly hair and sky blue eyes.

"No and..." I started to count my fingers, "Today is my second day."

"Okay well lets go get you a weapon," he told me before walking away. I followed behind him.

"99 bottles of coke on the wall..." I said waiting for him to shut up, "99 bottles of coke!" I said happily when he did not respond.
