Arthit

It had been four days and Knott still hadn't woken up.

Knott underwent a five-hour surgery.  Even though he was moved out of the ICU, the doctor told them he was still in a critical condition.  Arthit visited every day.

Once when he walked into the room, Theia was curled up on the bed next to Knott fast asleep with Fang seated next to them.  It was the most painful thing Arthit had ever seen.  How was he going to pay for this mistake?   Kongpob had ruined this family because of him.

Arthit was at work when he got the call.

"Arthit... come quickly, its Knott," Prem's hoarse voice filled his ears.

Arthit hung up, did his worse fears come true?  Knott was supposed to undergo another surgery if there was no improvement.  He knew this was going to happen.  The way the doctor spoke to them, it was clear Knott was in worse condition than they were initially told.

Arthit had no memory of how he got to the hospital.  His mind was blank.  Prem was outside Knott's room.  When Prem saw Arthit he came forward:

"Arthit ..."

Arthit pushed him away rushing into the room.  His eyes were only focused on Knott's face.  His oxygen mask was missing.  His eyes were closed.

He couldn't hear anything.  His heart felt like it had stopped beating.

"Knott..."

Arthit slowly walked up to the end of the bed and grabbed hold of Knott's feet and rested his forehead on them.

Knott lost his life because of him never knowing his feelings.  Now he was too late.

"How could you leave me again Knott!"  He screamed, "You promised me you wouldn't leave me!  I'm sorry, I didn't see you when you were right there beside me!  Please come back!  I love you, Knott.  I never told you how I felt about you.  I'll do anything, please come back."  Arthit sobbed.  The weight in his chest was unbearable.

Arthit heard a rusty voice say, "Arthit... will you stop screaming?  You are giving me a headache."

He raised his head, Knott was looking at him with a smirk.  Arthit looked around.  Fang stared at him in shock and Bright seemed unamused.  He could feel himself go red.

"But... you..."  Arthit turned towards Prem, "Why  you bastard..."

"Ai Arthit... you didn't let me explain.  I was here when Knott woke up, and I called you immediately.  You hung up before I could say anything.  Even now, when I was about to explain you pushed me away. Don't blame me," Prem replied.

"Can you guys give me a minute with Arthit?" Knott asked.  Fang still seemed unsure.  Arthit avoided her gaze.  "Fang... please?"

After it was just the two of them in the room, Arthit took a seat next to Knott.

Knott looked into his eyes, "Were you afraid?"

"My soul left my body you idiot," Arthit said in a flushed red face.

"Did you really think I would leave you again?" Knott opened his hand.  Arthit slipped his fingers through Knott's.  His eyes filling up with tears once again, nodding.

"I made a promise, didn't I?  Anyway, what did you just say?  I don't think I heard you well," Knott asked in a teasing voice.

"I can't remember what I said," Arthit answering pouting.

Knott pulled his hand away, his smile fading.

"I'm sorry... I forgot... you are married."

Arthit showed Knott his bare left hand.
