Johanna's POV-

There was a clear tension between Katniss and Peeta, and I wasn't the only person to have noticed it.

Every single person had noticed just how cold Peeta was being with Katniss.

Questions were being asked, but I didn't know what I was supposed to say, when I didn't even have a clue what the hell was going on.

Things just got worse after I made the joke about Detiny and Finnick Jnr getting married.

I never thought they were going to get upset about it, but neither of them seemed to understand the joke in what I was saying; especially not Katniss who simply vanished from the room shortly after pretty much everyone else had left the party.

The only people left were myself and Annie.

Gale had to leave because he needed to get back to his family in town, Haymitch and Effie were just too old to keep up with us now and Beete never even turned up, so where he vanished to in the end, I have no idea.

"What do you think is going on with Peeta and Katniss?" Annie asked me through the silence, her eyes never leaving her son who bared so many similarities to Finnick.

"I don't know. Peeta has been off with Katniss since we all turned up here, and he wouldn't even let her near Destiny earlier on." I sighed.

"I might go and make sure she's OK." Annie replied, turning her head in my direction and I could see the genuine look of concern in her face as she thought about all the things which could be wrong between Katniss and Peeta.

"I'm sure they're fine. Every marriage has it's problems, even yours and Fin-" but I stopped myself before I could say anything else, even though it was already too late because I had said more than enough.

I really did need to learn when to keep my mouth shut and when there are things which simply never need to be said because they're going to hurt a person.

An example being what I just said.

"It's fine Johanna because you're right. Although it may have been short, mine and Finnick's marriage wasn't without problems." Annie sighed.

"I didn't mean anything. I just meant that, I'm sure both Peeta and Katniss are fine, they're just having one of them problems in their marriage." I stated with a weak smile in some attempt to convince myself that I was right and there wasn't anything else going on which we simply hadn't been told about.

"I know what you meant, stop trying to explain yourself. I'm going to check on Katniss." Annie laughed as she stood up and walked out of the room, leaving me to look after Finnick Jnr.

I had never been good with children because I didn't know what they wanted, or needed.

They just seemed to cry and scream a lot, never really shutting up until they got something they wanted from you.

Probably the reason I had remained single all this time and not really bothered with anything other than the job which I now have in District Seven.

Katniss' POV-

"Are you going to tell me what your problem is, or are you just going to keep treating me like this without an explanation?" I asked Peeta, for what seemed like the thousandth time already today, but I seriously wanted to know what the hell his problem was.

"I don't have a problem with you." he shrugged.

"Yeah, that's why you're being like this with me and, every single time I say something show my love for you, you brush it to the side like it means nothing." I argued back.

"Have you ever loved anyone, other than me?" he questioned, and I thought that was a stupid thing to actually ask me; I couldn't believe he had actually just come out with that.

"I've only ever loved you, and you know that Peeta. That's why I married you and that's why we've got a daughter together."

"Then why did I find a picture of Finnick downstairs this morning?" he shouted, throwing the picture in my direction.

It had clearly been screwed up and shoved into his pocket since he found it, and he had obviously been doing his best to find how he was supposed to say that to me and even ask me the question in the first place.

"Really Peeta? I mean, really, you're questioning if I love you over a picture of someone?" I laughed slightly.

"Why do you have it?"

"It was something which Annie gave me to remember Finnick by. In case you had forgotten, he is the one that died trying to keep me alive and, when you were in The Capitol, he was the one there for me and actually understood how I felt. So, forgive me for missing someone who did mean a lot to me." I snapped at him, and then walked out of the room.

I needed to calm down and just think about what had happened.

Peeta had just accuded me of loving Finnick over him, which was never even a thought which crossed my mind.

It was a one time thing and I hate myself for it, but it didn't mean that I didn't love Peeta; he was my everything and I didn't want to lose him over this.

"Katniss? Are you alright?" I heard a voice say and I looked up to see Annie standing before me with a sympathetic look on her face.

"Erm, yeah, I'm fine. I'm just going out for some air. Can you make sure Destiny is OK?" I replied, hiding the fact I was crying from her because I didn't really want to answer the questions she was going to have for me.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I won't be long, just going for a walk." I replied, pushing my way past her and out of the house.

I just needed some space, that was all.
