Hazel

When Junior wakes up, he immediately starts talking.

"We have to get to camp half blood! We leave NOW."

"Woah, dude. Calm down," Zac says.

"I have NO calm right now. We HAVE to get to camp half blood! It's the only way we'll be safe."

"First of all, what is camp half blood?"

"A camp for demigods."

"Second of all, why should I come with you?"

"Simple. If you don't, you die."

"Good point. Zac, wait here with Junior. I have to do a few things at my house. We can leave a note for your mom when I get back before we leave."

I fly home, half expecting my mom to be there. She is. I go to my room, before she can see me. I grab some of my paints, paintbrushes and canvas. As I take the canvas out of my closet, something heavy falls out. The bronze sword, right. I shove it in the bag, along with all the other stuff. I also carefully take the painting I painted of Zac off the wall and roll it up and shove it in the bag.

"Goodbye, room."

I try to sneak out, but my mom sees me.

"Where are you going?"

"Out."

"Out where?"

"Oh, you know. Somewhere... away from you."

"I don't think so, missy."

"I do," I say, and fly away.

"So how are we going to get there?" I ask as I land on the top of the treehouse.

"We take a taxi," Junior answers.

"I'll get car sick. No way. How long of a ride is it?"

"Three hours?"

"I get carsick after one hour."

"Same," Zac agrees.

"Can we fly?," I ask hopefully.

"No. If newspapers caught you..."

"Fine," I mumble, "but I'm warning you."

After half an hour in the taxi, I feel like I'm going to puke. "Can I just ride Arion?" I ask, feeling my stomach doing things it's not supposed to do.

"Fine."

"Where is camp hangnail?"

"Camp Half Blood. It's on an island called Long Island in New York."

"Okay, stop around a forest somewhere. Zac, you riding with me?"

"Uh, and not be stuck in a car all day? Yeah!"

I jump out of the taxi and ran into the woods, bending towards the ground, picking up a gold nugget that popped out of the ground at my feet. Arion comes galloping at the speed of sound and takes the nugget. I hop on and look at Zac.

"C'mon! Get up!"

He saddles the horse and puts his arms loosely around my waist.

"You might want to get a better grip," I say, and we're off!
