Emma's P.O.V

The past couple of days felt like a dream. Alex let me cut school until next week, at which I'm thankful for.

"Emma!" I heard Alex yell from down stairs. I looked up from my laptop and walked down the stairs. I saw him and Jack talking in the kitchen.

"JACKY!" I yelled and jumped on his back, earning a grunt from the tall lacky man.

"Hey, kiddo." Jack said. Alex chuckled.

"Em, I have something to tell you." Alex said and rubbed the back of his neck. I sighed and hopped down from Jack.

"I won't be home all week. We're working on the new record and everything." I knew this was coming. I forced a smile.

"That's okay. I'm sure I'll be fine." I shrugged and grabbed a Dr. Pepper from the refrigerator.

"Are you sure?" Alex asked. He looked unsure.

"Yeah, It's not like your not coming home." I smiled, which earned him to smile.

"Yeah. Thanks, Em." He opened his arms out for a hug, at which I accepted.

"Okay now that THAT'S settled, Emma go get dressed. We're going out today for dinner. And make sure you wear the dress we bought." I sighed.

"Okay." I walked out of the kitchen and to my room.

I looked through my closet. My wardrobe has grown since I've been here. Granted, I've been here for a couple of days, Alex likes to take me shopping and when we go shopping, there's no stopping him. Not that I didn't like being spoiled, just not so much.

I shook my head and pulled out the black and white dress Alex bought me.

It was fit perfectly at the top and flowed to about my knees and then poofed out like Demi Lovato's in her 'La La Land' music video. I walked into my ensuit bathroom, (I still can't get over that I have ensuit bathroom!) and did my hair and make-up.

When I was satisfied with what I looked like, I walked back into my room and put on my Converse and walked down the stairs to my dad and uncle. It's still kind of weird calling them that but I'll get use to it. One day. I heard music playing so I guess I took longer than I thought. Oops.

I walked through the kitchen and looked into the living room where I saw Alex and Jack jumping around to the music. I couldn't hold back my laughter. They turned around and looked at me. At this, I couldn't hold it back any longer.

"You guys dance like a bunch of girls." I said between gasps.

"That's not true. A bunch of girls dance like us." Jack pouted. I giggled.

"If you say so." I muttered.

We walked to the front door, out of the door, and into the car.

"The guys are meeting us there." I nodded and looked out the window.

It wasn't long before I noticed the car stopped. I looked up and saw Jack and Alex get out of the car. I sighed and got out as well. I felt someone put their hands over my eyes.

"I swear, if you mess up my make up, I'll burn everything you love." I heard Alex chuckle at my empty threat.

"Chill Em. A dad can't take his daughter out to dinner to officially celebrate her coming home without getting threatened?" He asked and guided me forward.

"I hate surprises." I mumbled and crossed my arms over my chest. We walked for a couple more minutes and then came to a stop.

"Now, before I take my hands away, I'm going to say this. These people are like family. So, before you freak, they'll love you. Okay?" I sighed.

"Okay." I muttered. He took his hands from my eyes and stepped to the side. I could feel my knees go weak when I saw all the people and the smiles on their faces.

"Alex, are they all here because of me?" I looked over at him, feeling tears swell up. He smiled.

"Yeah, and they wanted to welcome you home." I smiled and looked back at the crowed of people and waved.

"Hi." I smiled shyly.

"Come on." Jack pulled my arm which caused a giggle slip past my lips.

"Emma, this is our tour manager, Matt Flyzik." I smiled shyly at Matt.

"It's nice to meet you, Emma." I shook my head as Jack continued to introduce me to people.

About half way through, I tuned out until someone tapped me on my shoulder. I spun around to see my dad smile at me.

"Emma, this is my mom and dad, your grandmother and grandfather." He pointed to his parents.

"Peter and Isobel is fine." Peter said, Isobel pulling me into a hug.

"It's so nice to finally meet you." She smiled, I returned it. She passed me off to Peter.

"It's nice to finally meet you both as well." I smiled when Peter let go. I heard someone clear their throat.

"Can I have your attention." Jack said, a microphone in his hand. I groaned inward.

"I'd like to welcome Emma home. Em, when I first met you, I knew that Alex was going to choose you when he asked you what you were listening to and you said Mayday Parade. I just knew that he would bring you home. When we got back to the hotel room and I asked who he was going to choose. At first he wouldn't answer. When I asked for the 100th time, he said, and I quote, "Emma, because she seemed so... I don't now, different.' I was so happy when he said that. So, without further ado, I welcome home Emma Gaskarth." When Jack was done, I was smiling like a fool. I walked up to Jack and hugged him.

"Thank you, Jacky. That means a lot to me." He smiled and ruffled my hair. I slapped his hand away and grabbed the microphone. I let out a nervous laugh, attracting everyone's attention once again.

"Hi everyone. If you haven't guessed, I'm Emma.I wanted to say thank you. Thank you to Alex for adopting me and making me his own. Thank you for giving me the chance to make something of myself other than rotting away in a foster home. If it wasn't for you, I'd probably be sitting in my room, doing homework and listening to music. To be honest, none of this would've never been possible. And most inportantly, thank you all for welcoming me into the family. I truly love all of you." I looked down at Alex and smiled when he and everyone else had a huge smile on their faces.

I put the microphone on the stand and gave Alex a hug. Which turned into a huge group hug. So far, this has been the greatest day/night of my life and I had Alex to think.
