"clay jensen!" the young brunette yelled out in the halls of liberty high, earning some looks from fellow peers. the boy stopped in his tracks, knowing he couldn't avoid her anymore.
"uh hey casey." he said turning around to face the angered girl. "why have you been avoiding me?" casey questioned him.
"psht avoiding you?" clay said knowing damn well he ran out of both of his classes with her to avoid any questions. "i haven't avoided you once today!"
"oh really?" the girl raised her eyebrows. "so can we talk?" she asked.
"i would love to! but I really don't wanna be late to ms burnley's class-" the boy was cut off. "clay, we're standing right outside of her classroom." clay looked to his left and watched the empty classroom, knowing he had no more excuses.
"fine, what do you want?" he asked. "ha i knew you were avoiding me!" clay rolled his eyes. "just tell me what you need to tell me."
"well i would like to know why you tagged jeff in my picture." casey questioned. "that? no reason! just trying to help you make friends!" clay answered untruthfully.
"trying to help me make friends?" casey asked knowing clay was lying, but clay just nodded his head. "clay, can you just tell me the truth?" she asked.
clay took a deep breath. "i was tutoring jeff and i was on my phone so of course i was on instagram and i saw your pic. jeff noticed that i was on my phone and took it from me and asked about you, he thought you were cute. his phone was shut off so he told me to just tag him in the picture."
casey felt a smile creep up on her lips. "so jeff atkins thinks i'm cute?" she grinned. "thanks clay!" she kissed his cheek and took off leaving the boy standing there.

"so what do we say when something good happens?" casey asked. "what do you mean?" jessica questioned the brunette. "well if we say fml when something depressing happens, do we say anything when something good happens?"
"usually we can't save good things for here," alex said taking a pause to sip his drink that was topped with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and caramel syrup. "we talk about the good stuff on our way here then bring up the not so good things." he continued.
"but we skipped that part today while we were telling you about monet's." hannah said. "not like anything special happened anyways." jessica said. hannah nodded her head in a form of agreeing.
"did anything special happen with you, new girl?" alex lifted the spoon from his drink and stirred in the whipped cream. "well, i guess." casey replied.
jessica and hannah shared looks. "spill!" they both said with perfect timing. "you guys remember asking me why clay tagged jeff in my picture?" the three kids already knew were this was going.
"apparently he thinks i'm cute or something." she said stirring her hot chocolate. "no way!" jessica said slamming her hands on the table.
"damn two days here and you already have jeff atkins all over you." alex said. "it took me a year to get justin to notice me and we're in the same grade!" jessica said.
"when are you going to talk to him?" hannah asked. "maybe never." casey let out. "i'll probably say something stupid and embarrass myself." jessica rolled her eyes. "girl jeff atkins, the jeff atkins, thinks you're cute and you aren't going to talk to him?"
-
casey's walk home consisted of one thing, her constant thinking about jeff. maybe i should talk to him? she thought. yesterday she had no clue who he was and now he's the only thing she can think about.
maybe he's like every other popular guy. he think's i'm cute. that means nothing to him. she had to clear her head. she blamed it on jessica, hannah, and alex, they're the reason she's thinking about him.
no she thought. it's my fault for even asking clay i should've just let it go. she took a deep breath as she entered her house, and of course the first thing she did was stalk jeff atkins on every social media platform possible.
