“I know...” I chuckled sadly. “I can't believe it either...”

It was silent for about thirty seconds before Adam broke the silence.

“Well... I'll have your back, with whatever you have to do. I don't know what happened or when it'll get better, but I'll be there for you.”

I paused, then pulled him into a hug.

“By the way, I think Ty's got a crush on you, too.” I chuckled.

He broke the hug, grinning.

“You think so?”

I grinned back at him, nodding. He got lost into his thoughts for a minute before snapping out of it by asking

“What do we do about... this?” He gestured toward my body.

“I don't know, man... But look, I have boobs now!” I exclaimed, puffing out my chest. Adam burst out laughing.

“Bright sides, man,” I reminded him. “Here, you try.”

Adam backed away, his hands in the air.

“No thanks, man!” He said between laughs. I laughed with him.

After laughing for a while, I decided to root through my clothes to find something to wear that could pass for girl's clothing. But when I opened my closet, I found something else. Clothes were laid out in front of me, all neatly folded, sorted into piles of shirts, pants, socks, bras and underwear, and skirts and dresses. My jaw dropped.

“A-Adam...”

He walked over to the closet.

“Wh...Oh...”

He stared at the piles of clothes sitting on the floor, surrounded by my normal clothes. I didn't have anything to say but

How?

Adam shook his head next to me.

“I- You know, don't question it.”

I nodded.

“I guess I'm gonna change...”

“I'll... Stand out there for a bit, then...” Adam said somewhat awkwardly, jerking a thumb toward the door.

“Oh, yeah. I'll be out in a minute,” I said. I'd forgotten that it was now awkward for me to change in the same room with him.

Turning back to the clothes, I began sifting through them to find something to wear.

I was a man, therefore not good at matching clothes, but I thought I'd done well. I was now wearing a navy blue pair of skinny jeans and a white camisole underneath a navy jacket. I'd also picked out a black hair-thing, but I didn't know how to put it in, so I just put it in my jeans pocket.

I slid out of the bathroom on my socks, jogging towards the door. I pulled it open, stepping out to be examined by Adam.

He looked up from his phone at the sound of the door opening, then he smiled.

“Mitch, you look like a normal girl!” He laughed. I placed a hand on my chest, pretending to be flattered.

“So... What can we do? I mean, I obviously can't just suspiciously appear after I-Mitch- leaves.”

Adam thought for a moment.

“Well... First, try not to tell anyone unless you've been caught. If someone catches you and you try to lie about it, it's just gonna get worse.” I nodded. “But I do have a start of a plan. I'll get everyone out of the house, so you can get out of the house. Then you send a text from your phone to everyone else, saying that you left and that you were staying here.”

I blinked.

“What?”

Adam laughed.

“You leave and send a text from your regular phone, saying that you as Mitch left, and that you as a girl would be staying here for a while.”

I chuckled.

“Alright... I'll figure it out, I guess. Let me just go pack a bag or something so I don't show up with nothing.”

Adam nodded. I turned back around and walked to my closet to pack.

After I'd finished packing, I walked out to Adam, holding a bag with clothes and some makeup I'd found in my bathroom cabinets.

“Alright. Lezzgo,” I stated. He nodded, and walked downstairs to clear it out. I listened from just outside my doorframe.

“Hey, guys, come outside. I gotta show you something,” Adam said. He's a good actor, I thought absentmindedly. I cracked my knuckles.

“I'm eating, though,” Jerome complained around a mouthful of food. I smiled.

“Come on, J-rome!” Adam whined. I heard movement downstairs.

“NO! MY FOOD!” I heard Jerome call from outside. I grinned. After waiting for a second and not hearing any movement, I peeked my head over the balcony. No one.

I tightened my grip around the handle of my bag and rushed downstairs. I felt my heartbeat increase as I padded quickly through the house, heading silently for the front door. I heard a yell from outside.

“WHAT THE FUCK, ADAM!” Followed by a splash. I choked down my laughter. I guess that was what Adam's distraction was.

I shoved the door open, jumping onto the sidewalk. I ran to the end of the block before pulling my phone out. I tapped through the controls, sending a group text.

Hey, its probably weird hearing this but I kinda left for a little while. Sorry for not telling you before, but I wasnt really planning it. And while im being a dick, might as well say that im sorry. I completely forgot my sister was coming for a visit for a while. Im so so sorry doods. I know its insane that I forgot it and that im telling you this now, like five minutes before she gets here, and I wont even be there. Plz forgive, I fan :(

I sighed. I really hope they let me in. I watched as my phone made the familiar “whoosh” to symbolize a sent message.

I sat down on the corner, waiting.
