Chapter 12 ~ Recovery

Andy's POV

School felt normal, being with my family or friends felt normal as well. But the second I was alone was when I felt anything, i was alone with my thoughts and that hurt more than anything. since the day I broke down I've been getting horrible thoughts and i cant seem to clear my mind from the disturbing hell in my mind. I kept worrying and over thinking about the people around me, it was only Lynn who was keeping me sane at this point. I was still in a lot of pain but regular hospital visits and pain medication were keeping it liveable.

Lynn's POV
I was happy to see how quickly Andy was recovering, he had a minor fracture to his skull which was nothing too worrying. At the start they thought he had possible internal bleeding in the brain, which could have put him in a critical condition; just the thought of loosing Andy worried me, almost made me feel sick. I had an attachment to him and I'm worried I'll never let him go. As the days passed of his recovery we were spending more and more time together, texting and calling through the night and I completely loved it, he made me feel so special and he warmed my heart.
Andys POV
Spending more time with Lynn helped me realise I wanted something with her, I wanted to ask her on a date and this time I was going to have guts. While we were sitting at lunch I offered to walk her home and she thankfully accepted, we had last period together and we were counting the minutes till we could leave. Staring back and forth between the clock on the wall and Lynn's face across from me, until finally the familiar sound of the bell rings through our ears. We both stand up and pack up our jotter; Synchronised with each other. Quickly, we left the class room and were out the front doors in a matter of seconds, before retreating after feeling the rough downpour of cold rain on our body's. She looks at me with a big smile, grabs my arm and runs back outside. Within seconds we were drenched, but we were laughing and splashing each other with the puddles. It warmed my heart to see her so happy.
We continued the walk home and the rain began to clear up, I felt it was time I asked her.
"Lynn," I paused
"Could I ask you somthing" I looked into her eyes.
"Hah yeh anything Andy?" She smiled and looked back at me.
"Would it be okay if I could take out somewhere? M-Maybe?" I stuttered
"Like on a date?" She spoke softly.
"Yes, like a date? It's okay if you don't wan-" she cut me off.
"Yes, yes Andy I would love to!" We both smiled at each other and kept walking. She put her arm by her side and I held her hand in mine. It felt right.
