I hadn't really known what to expect when I had come. Of course, she would be beautiful. Her fighting skills would be beyond any other girl's. She would have to be smart to have been in hiding for this long. Reagan. I looked at the girl in front of me, so vulnerable and blind. Her black hair bounced as she walked, no, glided, through the white forest. I remember the first dream I had of her. She had been in this forest, alone and scared. She had been beat up badly, and I had felt an urge to help her, even though I didn't usually have feelings towards humans. That was my first hint that she wasn't, in fact, a human. That she was like me. But what was that exactly? We were stronger, faster, smarter, and more beautiful than any human. By this description, most would call us vampires. But vampires were near extinction, and they lived on the other side of the planet, far away from civilization. No... we were something different.

I had first heard about her in a rumor, that there was something, or someone, living on the dangerous side of the volcano that had unimaginable powers. She was called Pulchra Diabolus, beautiful devil. That had been my first hint as to what she was. I hadn't known her name then. Her name had come to me in a dream, as did everything else I knew about her, which wasn't all that much. I looked ahead of me at the back of her head, her long slender neck. Her skin was almost as pale as the snow. She turned around and looked at me. I faltered. She was beyond all beauty. Her full red lips contrasted with her pale skin, and her black hair just made her more stunning. Her icy blue eyes were proof that we were one in the same, bound by one another for whatever the gods required.

"You're awfully quiet." She said, smirking. Her voice was smooth and like the tinkling of bells. It rang out and echoed off the trees, making me close my eyes and just listen to her. Her footsteps stopped. "You look like an idiot just standing there." She asked, and I felt her gaze on me. I let out a long breath.

"I'm listening to your beautiful voice, my darling." I said, opening one of my eyes. She quickly turned away, not letting me see her eyes. I smiled and followed her as she started to walk again. We came to a cliff and she looked up it. Not missing a beat, she started to climb. I let out a small laugh and climbed along with her. There were sticker bushes, which clung to my hair and clothes. I looked up at her. "You do this every day?" I asked, doubtful.

"In a dress." She said, and I heard her smiling. I stopped and looked up, then down. There was no way that someone, even her, could possible do this in a dress. It was hard just doing it in normal clothes. I bet Reagan looked beautiful in a dress. It seems, I thought to myself, that I've used the word beautiful a lot when describing Reagan to myself. Well, she was. Stunning, elegant, eye candy. I could have a feast just staring at her for a day. Once we had scaled the cliff, we came to a river. "Watch carefully." She said, her voice making me shudder. I watched as she stepped on specific spots on the river, making her look like she was walking on water. I obediently followed her exact footsteps and noticed that I was stepping on stones. I leapt off of the watery abyss and looked behind me to see if I could see them. I couldn't. She regarded me with satisfaction and we kept walking.I started to walk next to her, closer than most would. Our hands touched for an instant and tingles rippled through my arm. I let out a small moan and Reagan emitted a squeak. We both looked at each other.

"You feel the same pleasure that I do?" I asked. She quickly turned away and blushed.

"I wouldn't call it pleasure." She said, walking a little faster. I watched as her cheeks slowly turned back to their pale color as the blushing faded. At last we came to a house. It was painted white so that it blended in with the trees. Reagan stopped and looked at it. I looked at her in wonder.
