Kane was in the tree watching Aleta and I fight. He got so tense every time Alet's knife got close to me, and I begged him with my eyes to stay out of it. I tried to tell him that I could handle a small girl like Aleta. I twisted and turned, dodging Aleta's angry swipes and purposefully not hitting her for fear that I would kill her. Sure, I didn't like her, but that didn't mean I wanted her to die either. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kane move. I looked around to see him, and I instantly knew I had made a mistake. Aleta saw her chance and took it. She kicked her leg out and tripped me. I stumbled, trying not to fall, and she thrust her blade out. It sliced my arm and my blood splattered onto the perfect white snow. I screamed and clutched my arm. What was happening?! What was this? Was this blood? My blood? No, that wasn't possible!
I stumbled and fell to the ground, still clutching my arm, blood oozing through my fingertips. I had never bled before. Not once. I was too good of a fight to ever get hurt. I never accidentally hurt myself because I was too perfect aware to do something that stupid. My breath came in short pants and I didn't even notice that someone was standing right in front of me. This couldn't be happening. It couldn't...
Suddenly I wasn't in the forest. Everything and everyone was gone. No snow, no trees, no Vale, no Aleta, no house. Where was everything? I stood up and everything was white. I looked down at myself and noticed that I was now wearing a long black dress. Where was I? I took a few steps into the darkness and saw someone. I couldn't see his face, and I took a step back. He held out his hand and I instantly felt a calm warmth. "Darling..." He said. It was Kane. I ran towards him and he met me halfway. He embraced me and I felt safer than I had in my whole life. I looked up at him.
"Where am I ?" I asked, and he looked down at me with his beautiful blue eyes. His eyes glistened as he pressed a finger to my lips.
"Shh..." He said. Suddenly, before my eyes, he evarporated into a black mist. I tried to grab it, but it slipped between my fingers. I noticed the black glovlets on my hands and I looked down at my black painted fingertips. It looked like I was dressed for a funeral. I looked down and noticed that I had a shadow. If I had a shadow... then there had to be light behind me. I turned around and started to walk in that direction. As I walked on, there was a light blue glow. I ran towards it and noticed that it was a tiny blue orb. If I looked closer, I could tell that there was a light blue liquid in it, giving it the blue glow.
"Do you like it?" I spun around at the male voice. There was nobody there. Maybe I had just imagined it... A figure walked out of the darkness. I almost passed out just by looking at him, even from a distance. He was tall, with long blonde hair. He radiated power like... like a freaking unicorn, but this wasn't the good kind of power. There was something dark about him that I couldn't place, but it seemed familiar. As he walked up to me I noticed his eyes for the first time. They were the same exact color as mine and Kane's. Was he like us? He stood next to me and looked at the ball. "I made it to match your eyes." He said, turning towards me. I averted my eyes from his. There was something... off, about this guy.
"You made this?" I asked, watching as the ball bobbed up and down. He nodded and ran his fingers through his long hair. I let out a small squeak and quickly covered my mouth. He was just too damn sexy. He smirked and grabbed my waist. In a quick movement, he had pulled me into him. He was about a while head taller than me, and I had to look up to see his face. He trailed his finger along my cheek and I shuddered.
"You are very beautiful." He said, almost purring. What was with me and meeting sexy guys all of a sudden? I told myself that if I blushed, I would kill myself. I didn'y blush. I averted my eyes from his at all cost, until he tilted my head to look at him. I looked into his eyes and my knees went weak. If felt like he was peering into my soul, and it wasn't a very comfortable feeling. He had too much power in him, but that only made him like a huge magnet to me. He smiled and my heart fluttered. Just so you know, it wasn't love I felt for him. Far from it. I just felt like I was connected to him somehow, like a moth to a flame. "You are lost in thought." He said. I shrugged.
"Well I don't know where I am, and I don't know who you are. So yeah, I guess you could say I'm thinking a lot." I said sarcastically. He smiled again.
"My name is Jax. You have already met my idiot brother." He said, playing with a piece of my hair. I noted that our chest were together and that I had never been this close to a guy for this long.
"Wait. Kane is your brother?" I asked. He nodded and then looked back at me.
"But that is not important right now." He whispered seductively. He leaned down and I tried to get as far back from his as possible. His lips gently hit mine and a shockwave of power went through my body. He widened his mouth and kissed me more passionately. I was so dizzy I couldn't even stand up. Power rushed through my veins and my body couldn't handle it. I clung to him for fear that I would fall. Jax crushed me closer to him and I let out a small moan. He lowered his head and kissed my neck. I took in huge gulp of air and he let go of me. I crashed to the floor and held my hand to my chest. What... was that?! My head screamed. He looked down at me. "I just gave you some of my powers. Beings like us can do this when one of us is weak which, right now, you are. It is a sort of rush is it not?" He asked, and I could only nod. He kneeled down and kissed my cheek, sending shivers down my spine. He turned and started to walk away.
"Wait. How do I get out of here?" I asked, still sitting on the floor. Jax turned around and smiled.
"Just open your eyes." He said, and disappeared into the darkness.

I opened my eyes weakly and looked around me. Vale was sitting on the couch, and when he saw me open my eyes he smiled. Then he realized that I must looked like crap, and he looked panicked. Aleta was sitting next to him, her eyes fixed on the thin air. She looked so happy just staring into space and I wondered what was wrong with her. "Reagan, you're awake." I heard someone say. I looked up and saw Kane leaning over me, his bright blue eyes happy. A thought snapped into my head. If was Jax said was true then... I shakily sat up, and even that was difficult. Kane touched my arm. "You should probably lay back down." He said. I ignored him. I didn't want to do this, but a girl's got to do what a gir's got to do.
Before Kane could stop me, I had pressed myself against him. His eyes were questioning, but he didn't stop me. Vale had a look of pure horror on his face. I silently apologized to the part of me that despised Kane. I closed my eyes and pressed my lips to Kane's. I could feel the power rush through me, just like it had when Jax had kissed me. But now it was... different. Kane just sat there, stunned, and when I felt like I had enough power I stopped kissing him. I took a deep breath and lyed back down, feeling like I had just eaten a good meal. I looked over and Vale had his mouth wide open in shock. Kane's eyes were huge and he was just sitting there looking rather pleased with what had just happened.
"What... was... that?!" Vale shrieked. Kane laughed softly to himself and looked at Vale.
"Jealous?" He asked. I suppressed a smile as Vale floundered for words. I sat up and looked at Vale.
"Well, Vale, I-"
"We're just madly in love." Kane said, interrupting me. He slid over next to me and looped his arm around my waist. Vale stared at Kane's hand as if it were something that came out of the garbage. I rolled my eyes and looked at Vale.
"Kissing is a way for our... type of species to share power." I said. Kane looked at me.
"Really?" He asked. I nodded and his eyes lit up. "I'm going to start beating myself up more often." He said. I rolled my eyes and looked back at Vale.
"I was weak, so I got power from Kane. That's it. I do not have feelings for this creep." I said, looking at Kane. He let go of my waist and leaned back on the couch, a proud grin on his face.
"Whatever you say darling." He said, not believeing me. I rolled my eyes and smiled at Vale. He smiled back, which warmed my heart. I looked at Kane.
"So you'll be staying here. With Vale and Aleta." I said. Kane nodded. I stood up and started to walk to the door. Vale looked up at me.
"Where are you going?" He asked. I smiled and winked at him.
"To hunt. You guys eat too much." I said, walking out the door. I smiled to myself and ran into the forest.
