chapter four

Here I am! In front of this big house. I zoned out for a moment, OMG, wow! it was very beautiful! and very white! with flowers around the fence.

  Suddenly a move in my left side brought me out of my amazement.

A guy was there  leaning back on the fence smiling at me.With readiness I present myself.

" Hi , I'm miss Donna Retchel I'm here for the job."  He  was good looking I keep thinking. Continuing smiling he greeted me back

" Hi, come in I'll show you the way. In fact, call me Patrick, I'm Ms Ashton cousin, I was waiting for you 'cause the bell is broken." Explaining he leaded me inside the house

" Thanks Patrick. Call me Donna."I returned the smile, stay quiet and follow

We were Monday and  despite the fact that weather forecast had predicted the rain, it was a sunny day, the beauty of the garden was emphasised by the way flowers was reflecting the light of sunshine, with the birds melodies combined with the blossom trees, every single part was marvelous, it was like  paradise, you just want to stay in this blissful silence.

Patrick look at me with mischief and sparkles in his eyes.

" You like it!? Wow! Just for information, it's like that 24/7. My cousin strictly forbids noise, And personally I can't stand silence it drives me insane".

He was such a lovely guy. We stopped in front of a door. Hushing a moment, he gazed at me in awe.

" you don't speak a lot, right?"

" yes, not that much". I chuckled and nodded.

" and you like silence?" He added with and awe look.

"uh-huh" I noticed

" good" he replied keep thinking." It's useful"

He mumbled the last part still staring at me.
Before I knew it, he suddenly opened the massive wood door that leads to a living room signing me to follow.

wow!! The view of this living room was breath taking. The floor was waxed to a high polish, the walls paint in a beautiful off-white colour and there wasn't windows but large glass, with curtains half pulled, which can slide to give access to the yard.

In the left side was in the middle two sofa and a large TV in front which all took a corner ; to the right side were a bookcase full of books and a wooden table with chairs around.

I zoned out for a moment and startled when I heard Patrick said with an amusing voice
" are you coming!?"

"sure! Sorry." I replied still looking around.

We went into a veranda in the backyard and there was another guy who looks like he was in his early thirties.

As soon as Patrick saw the guy, he smiled warmly while pointing me.

" hi, Aiden, 'this' is the nurse." He claimed that in an obvious manner

The man stood up and hold his hand out with a goofy smile checking me out like a peace of meat.

"hello, I'm Aiden Ashton, just call me Aiden". He said still smiling.

" hi, I'm Donna Retchel."

" Nice to meet you Donna, ooh , I can call you Donna right?" I nodded and he continued

" Okay, Please  follow me, my mother is in her office in the basement, she'll meets your there."

He was speaking while showing me the way to the basement. His hands was moving forward with his body, the way he was speaking claimed authority and he was surrounded with this fascinating aura of charisma.

" You'll working alongside of my mom and I can say you that you are very lucky, it's the first time she asks for a stranger to take care of my little sister, since the woman who had always been in charge of all of her children are now a retired."

He explained as we went along a corridor leading to the basement.
I was staring at him with a surprise look, which he noticed.

" Don't be surprised! The reason why Patrick welcomed you is that, mom trust him to know who can do this work, so like I saw earlier, you and him get along. Right?" he claimed waiting an answer.

" Yes, he's very friendly." I nodded

He started  laughing without breaking his  stare at me and shaking his head and his hands, he kept repeating

" No, no,no! Patrick definitely isn't friendly with everybody, except with kids and mom!" He explained

We arrived in front of a door, he stopped and looking at me, he said on purpose, humourously making fun of me

" Don't worry, she 'is very friendly'." He quoted with his fingers

Hushed and turning to go, he added

" Go ahead, she's waiting for your. I was glad to see you Donna" then he left leaving me standing here.

I took a deep breath and relax,  meanwhile gathering my courage before opening the door, then I realised that I wasn't prepared for what I saw in front of me.
