chapter thirteen

Kristen POV

We have been here for two hours now, I noticed that Donna was already tired, she was sitting with her head on top of the arm of the chair where she was. Seating beside, I took her head on my lap, rubbing her hair in process, it released the tension in her body.

" Hey, we have already finished. Just waiting the results, okay? I told you that I'm here for you don't worry" I whispering that in her ear.

She moaned and nodded in my lap.
Hearing this sound coming out of this mouth was a pure torture for me. Wow! This girl was arousing me in the middle of this waiting room just with a small sound like this one!!

Daydreaming I didn't heard the doctor until he coughed to get our attention.

" Good afternoon Ms Ashton, excuse me for the long time you have made here,  I have to be sure that everything was alright to tell you exactly what is going on with your daughter. Will you follow me in my office please?" He spoke to me with profound awe and respect.

Donna gaze at me, reminding me with her gaze that she didn't really know what was my profession.

" Hi Mr Ree, no problem"

without correcting the doctor  assumption, I stood up with my hand in Donna's waist, smiling to him, we followed.

As soon as we sat in his office, I bombarded him with questions
" Now do you know what happened to my daughter yesterday? Was it a heart attack? Don't you think that she's too young to have one?"

Bewildered, The doctor hold his hand up to stop me.

" If I say you that it wasn't serious, I will be lying to you Ms Ashton. It was a heart attack for sure but a mini one, we have to take it seriously. I recommend you to see a specialist in cardiology, I'm a generalist and can just help with some pills to lower the pain. But you have to pursue a good cardiologist if you want your daughter to recover, because what I saw in her radiography isn't good. And yes! She is young enough to have a heart attack, but sometimes things don't work like it have to. Sorry, but like a doctor I can say you that it occurs oftentimes now."

Staring at him blankly, I stroke my cheek thinking. I shift my gaze to Donna, who was shaking. Squeezing her hand still in mine, I face the doctor.

" Are you sure that until we see a specialist she will be fine? We'll be moving to California in the next month, there, I'll pursue one."

Doctor Ree face shine when he heard California.
" Great! I have a fellow in Madison hospital there in north California , his is a great cardiologist! I will call to discuss the details of the treatment I gave you here and for the time your still here, I recommend you to avoid noise and everything that can cause great excitement. It will be easier like that. Besides, I'll help You Set up a  health insurance, by that your  work insurance can cover the costs of the hospital treatment. OK" he explained

" Oh great! is OK for me. Thanks Mr Ree.
You are very helpful"
I said that shaking his hand.

" Your welcome, Ms Ashton. You have made same for me. I'm glad that I can return you the favour now."
He added that smiling.

As soon as we headed out, Donna stared at with a questioning look. I chuckled,
" Don't stare at me like that, I just help him to obtain his job here. I'm in the board of directors"

She made a 'oh!' with her pretty mouth and moved her head Slowly in an  understanding manner. I laughed relieved by the doctor assessments.

" Hey, what do you want to eat, umm? Everything you want,tell me"

She stared at me and smiled playfully

" I dunno ! Euh.. let's see, is my job to cook right?"
She scratched her head thinking, I couldn't help but laugh at well. I haven't seen someone who thought to  find what to eat.

" False, my dear, 'your job' is to take care of Elena like your one child. I can say that you perform there.  And 'my job' is to take care of you two. Clear that in this beautiful head of yours. Get it? What do you want to eat now?"

She started blushing like a tomato, nodded and gave me a shy smile.
"Yeah! euh really I dunno"

" Chicken and pasta, sound ?" I proposed aware that she likes that. The smile in her face made me proud.

" Definitely good!"
