Chapter 7

Urgh! Stupid play boy...I should've known. Guys like him are like that..urgh! Shameless flirt! I don't even know what I saw in him! Aah!

I was fuming inside. I hated this feeling. Something sick was starting to settle in my stomach.

"Priya, what is it??" Aish nudged me, looking a bit worried.

I told her what happened, swearing. "Calm down, most guys are like that...don't worry, the perfect guy is waiting for you, who cares about this one huh? "

I felt a bit better letting it all out. I took a deep breath and got up. I wasn't going to let some stupid guy spoil my day.

"Let's go eat..."

As we made our way to our usual table, we heard loud laughter. It was Dhruv and gang.

"Hey Priya! Aish! Come on over!" Dhruv called out.

I was shocked. What? Mr.Popular calling us to sit with them for lunch? Unbelievable.

Aish and I exchanged looks. We made our way over, me a bit boldly, determined not to let the fact that Aarti was sitting next to Anirudh hinder me.

I plunked down next to Layla, with Aish sitting beside me.

"So, how's your drug synthesis project going?" I looked aross the table at Dinesh. I was shocked he even knew about it.

"You know about that? Wow...it's making steady progress, thanks for asking. " I smiled.

"Are you kidding! How doesn't know! You're practically famous dude! What with your degrees and knowledge and all that, everyone respects you so much!"

Wow, this was the first time I was hearing this. I felt good.

"And not to mention, good looking!" Samuel commented from the end of the table.

"So is Aish! " Dinesh pipped up.

I blushed. "Tone it down guys, you're making it obvious!" Dhruv laughed.

A shrill laughter made me turn around. Aarti. "Shut up Ani! " she said to Anirudh and hit him with a book.

He smiled flirtatiously, trying to move away, playing along.

It was too much for me to watch, I just turned around and struck up a conversation with Lyla, Aish was busy talking with Dinesh.

"So, wanna come on over to my this weekend? It's my birthday and I'm hosting a small party..." Layla asked me and Aish.

We exchanged looks. "Sure" Aish said , the exact same time when I said "Sorry, we're busy"

Awk-waard.

I laughed awkwardly and said "we'll let you know" and smiled.

"Why not Priya? It'll be fun!" Aish was trying to persuade me to go.

"Anirudh and Aarti will probably be there..."

"Who cares?! Don't let them bring you down! Plus......Dr.Tanmayi will be there...." she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

Omg! I didn't even think about him for a few days! What the heck?

"Ok then! Sure!"
