I got of the next morning before the alarm, again.
I checked my phone, disappointed to see no new notifications.

I came out of the bathroom with the towel tied around me and shuffled through the clothes in the wardrobe, suddenly I conscious of what I was going to wear.

I hummed to myself as I picked out my favorite blue kurti top and matched it with jeans. It was a dark navy blue with workings near the neck and arms. The sleeves ended in my elbow. It was a perfect fit and it showed off my curves.

I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. I brushed through my hair, trying to decide how to wear it. In the end, I decided on braiding it.

I'm not your typical beauty, but looking at the mirror, I felt a bit good about myself. I had short black hair that came a bit past my shoulder and a round face. My dark brown eyes were insignificant, hidden behind my black framed specs. My nose was slightly out of proportion with my face and that had always bothered me....

I was of "slim" built, leaning towards the thinner side, but with an hourglass figure of which I was secretly proud.

I dabbed on a bit of liner and mascara, just enough to have a difference, but not so much that it looked obvious.

I quickly clicked a selfie and sent it to Aish. I was all smiles today, huh, wonder why.

My phone pinged. "Priyaaaaa!!!! Ohmigosh!!! Looking gorgeous, but why the sudden urge to dress up? You usually just put together what you feel like...and is that makeup I detect?!....does it have something to do with the newbie? ;)"

I laughed. Maybe.

I was in a good mood as I entered the college lobby.

"Morning Dr.Priya!" I turned around. It was Ayush, one of my students.

"Good morning, Ayush!" I smiled.

"Looking good today....I mean, you look good everyday but different today somehow....no, good different. "

I held back my laughter as I watched him squirm.

"Anyways, I better get going, bye!" He said and walked off, his face slightly red.

I almost bounced as I went to sign in for the day. I was in a great mood.

As I made my way to the staff room, I saw something that made me halt. Anirudh and Aarti, one of the younger professor, were standing by the coffee stand. Aarti was laughing loudly at something he had said and flipped her hair back.
She casually laid her hand on him arm.

Clearly she was flirting with him. Either he didn't notice, or he didn't mind. Suddenly, I didn't feel so good. I practically ran towards my table got my schedule and rushed to class, ignoring Aish who was standing by the doorway.

My morning mood had been spoilt and I didn't even know why...
