"OKAY, COME ON, COME ON," I
Mumbled, staring at a pot of water on the stove, pushing on my temples. "Come on!"The water just rippled.
"Uuugh!!" I screamed. "Boil!"
"What are you trying to do?" Stephenie asked from behind me.
"Nothing," I answered.
"Um, okay well, shouldn't you be dusting mom's glass dolls?"
"Shoot!" I screamed, sprinting out of the kitchen and into the living room, with all of Vivian's glass dolls.
I groaned, and got to work.
It felt like the dolls' eyes were following me.
I shivered.
I got to work, dusting one doll after another, and brushing their hair, like Vivian said.
4 HOURS LATER, I WAS ON THE LAST
Doll. I was brushing her hair and realizing that this was dumb. I just wasted valuable time when I could have been practicing my power. Why did mom and dad leave her to care for me and Fin?
But, if they hadn't, I wouldn't have met Kayla, or Mason...
They gave us these necklaces 4 days before they died.
Did they send us here because they knew we would find the new Supernova here? Maybe they sent us here not because of our caretaker, but because of our destiny...
I felt a rushing burn in my hand that made me jump, and lose my train of thought.
"Ow!" I screamed, and realized the doll' s hair was on fire.
I quickly picked up the doll, sprinted to the kitchen, and threw it into the pot of room- temperature water that I was trying to boil earlier.
The fire went out, and the dolls hair had a short, jagged cut, and was a dark black color, but I put the doll back and hoped Vivian wouldn't notice.
"Oh, she'll notice." Stephenie said from behind me, making me jump.
"Notice what?" I asked, pretending to be innocent.
"That doll's hair," Stephenie pointed. "That you burnt with your bare hands. How did you do that, anyway?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." I said as I looked away.
Stephenie scoffed. "Of course you do. I saw you."
I began to panic.
"You know what? I have to go." I said as I ran up the staircase and ran into my bedroom.
I slammed the door behind me, anxiously.
Sage was sitting on her bed, drawing what looked like an anime character.
"Good night, Sage." I said, crawling into bed, with my makeup and clothes still on.
But Sage didn't question it. She just got up to turn out the light for me.
"Goodnight, Sage." I mumbled, and drifted into sleep.
