Jazz
“What? But you look fabulous!” insisted Bianca. I rolled my eyes and faced her. Bee and I were in my room getting ready for the big party that night. Ever since Wednesday after school, I didn’t want to go. Bianca didn’t know and I planned on keeping it that way.
“It seems to… sexy,” I said sheepishly. Bianca scoffed.
“Oh please! That’s the point!” I looked at myself in the mirror again. I was wearing a tight silver bandage dress that was just above mid-thigh. It was strapless and very tight.
“Well, what are you wearing?” I queried. I turned to see her devilish grin.
“I’ll be right back.” I smirked while she got up and ran to my bathroom. She gave me one last evil grin and shut the door. I walked over to the shoes Bianca wanted me to pair my dress with. They were simple black stilettos and I actually liked them. I had a gold clutch that would defiantly tie the whole outfit together. Hmm, I wonder what Jacob will think.. Wait, what?
“Jazz! So?” I quickly spun around. Why had I thought that?
“Ugh. Sorry Bee. Now, what-“I stopped cold. My eyes widened in surprise and envy. Bianca was facing me and her dress was… wow. It was held by thick straps but the neckline was very low. It stopped right below her breasts and the rest of the dress was super tight fitting. The dress was all black and she had similar stiletto heels to mine but they were studded. “Wow Bee. You look fantastic!” She smiled.
“Really?”
“Yes!” I gushed.
“Yay! Now, let’s finish your hair!”
Bianca and I had finally arrived at the party. Jacob wanted to pick us up but Bee insisted that we would just meet him there. Before stepping out of Bee’s car, I checked my hair and makeup one last time in my small mirror. I wore my long brown hair down and Bianca slightly waved it. I had nude lip gloss on and a goldish shimmer for my eye shadow. Now, Bianca’s hair was tied up in a messy ponytail, and she wore light pink lip gloss and black eyeliner with dark blush. It actually worked for her. We both stepped out of the car at the same time. Both of us had reached the front door and the party was already rocking.
“Ready?” she asked. I nodded. We stepped through the threshold. Immediately I was hit with the scent of booze and sweat. Nicki Minaj’s Pound The Alarm was vibrating through Aaron Lou’s house.
I just want you tonight, night
Baby, we won’t do it for life, life
Music, Makes me, High
When she said pound the alarm, the whole crowd went crazy. I seriously thought this house was going to collapse. Bianca and I were still trying to get past the pumping crowd, for she thought she had seen Jacob. Jacob ended up being away from the crowd drinking what I was betting on was beer and talking to-
“Jake!” Bianca yelled. Jake turned his head towards us and his jaw dropped. Literally. Bianca blushed and jumped in his arms. He was shocked but hugged her, careful not to spill his beer of course. Jacob looked at me and looked dazed. I gave him a confused look but before I could say anything, a particular song came on. Bee’s favorite to be exact. “Oh my god! Jazz come on!” I shook my head.
“Uh, no.”
“Uh yes!” Bianca grabbed my hand and pulled me away. I looked back at Jacob and he just shrugged. Ugh. Fantastic. The song that was playing I hated and Bee knew that. She started swaying to the music right away and I kind of did too. The whole crowd started to get the feel of it and started having fun. We were all just having fun. Since the room was so close packed, were all basically dancing against each other but half were too drunk to care. Out of nowhere a red cup was handed to me. I took it and started drinking. Vodka mixed with beer. Awesome. I was guzzling it and looked over to find Bianca chugging hers too. Honestly, who knows how many we had. They just kept getting handed to us. Then, the entire crowd, including my drunk friend and I, were singing to the song. All in unison. I hear your heartbeat to the beat of the drums. Ooh what a shame that you came here with someone, so while you’re here in my arms. Let’s make the most of the night like we’re gonna die young! Bee and I started laughing but we kept dancing. I was just swaying my hips when I looked up and caught Jacob’s eyes. Honestly, I thought he was just staring at Bee, but when I turned around she was gone. Confused, I looked back at Jacob but he was gone too. What? I looked around and was just about to get out of the large crowd when I ran into someone. Jake.
“Ow! Oh, sorry.” I said while rubbing my forehead.
“It’s okay,” Jacob chuckled. I looked up at him and just smiled. Wow, we were close. Like, really close. A new song started playing over the speakers. I feel so close to you right now, I breathed in, it’s a force field. Jacob set his hand on my waist. I wear my heart upon my sleeve like a big deal. I started swaying to the music with Jacob. We were both dancing. Together. Your love pours down on me, surrounds me like a waterfall. The crowd was dancing too. We were all swaying to the same beat. And there’s no stopping us right now, I feel so close to you right now. The song started to become faster as did our dancing. We were spinning around and jumping while pumping our fists. Jake and I were laughing, and I was honestly having a fun time. We were moving in sync and I slowly put my hand on his shoulder. Both of his hands were moving up and down on either of my sides. We were so close. And there’s no stopping us right now, and there’s no stopping us right now, I feel so close to you right now. My breath was coming in rapidly, so was his. I was so close to him, I could smell the whiskey off his breath and I loved it. I was getting even more drunk just by smelling him. I looked up at him and he looked down at me. I feel so close to you right now. Wise words Mr. Harris. Before our lips could touch though, the song ended and a new one came on. Talk about killing the mood. Especially if the song is I Like it by Enrique Iglesias ft. Pitbull.
“Oh god,” I muttered. I turned my head up to look at Jake. He looked confused and worried. I shook my head vigorously. Baby I like it! Come on giving me some more! Oh god, no. I pushed Jacob away from me and made a mad dash for the front door. I had to get out of there. Right away. I pushed through all the people. Nobody’s made me feel the way that you do.
You know my motivation given my reputation; please excuse I don’t mean to be rude
But tonight I’m loving you. Stupid songs. Like really. I rolled my eyes and ran out the door, not caring I lost my bag and I was drunk out of my mind.
Jacob
Geez that girl could run.Of course I ran after her. When I stepped out of the house, I could see she only had made it halfway down the sidewalk. What is her problem? I thought while running after her. Finally, I caught up to her.
“Jazz! What’s wrong?” She turned on me with tears streaming down her face.
“You’re seriously asking me that question? I’m drunk Jake! And I’m grounded but I’m here anyway! Plus, we almost kissed for god’s sake! Again!” Jazz was breathing heavily and she was shivering. It was pretty cold out there. I could see my own breath. I slowly walked towards her, but she kept backing away.
“Jazz, please,” I begged. Tears were coming down her face like fast flowing rivers.
“No.” she said while shaking her beautiful head.
“Why not?” She looked up at me. Her face expression was sad and angry all at the same time.
“Because Jacob! This isn’t right! I mean, we look at each other like we’re about to kiss. All the time. And, I don’t know what to do. I’m lost. And maybe this is the alcohol talking, but I’m honest when I’m drunk I guess,” Jazz sobbed. I looked at her sad, tear stricken face. This stunning girl in front of me had never looked so broken or alone. I was utterly speechless. Jazz sighed and wiped away her tears.
“I don’t know where Bee is, but you should get back to her. I’ll walk home.” Jazz started walking away. I contemplated on what to do. Bianca, my girlfriend, is still at the party. She’s alone and she doesn’t know anyone there. Jazz, my closest friend, is walking away in the dark and clearly out of it. I sighed heavily and ran. I ran to her. It seemed like forever but I finally reached her.
“I’m not leaving you. Ever again.” I bent down and kissed Jazz lightly on the forehead. “Now, let me take you home.”
