Where Exactly Am I?

I drank that water in less than a second it seemed. Running my tongue over my teeth, I notice my teeth are quite sharper than before. "Wow. When did this happen?" I ask myself.

Later that morning I managed to get up and walk around. Maybe go talk to a doctor about when I can leave. I mean, if I'm walking around, I must be better. But when I open the curtain, there's nobody there. Now I know it's morning, but it's like 8 A.M. Surely doctors would be here.

I walk out of the large room filled with beds just like the one I had been lying on. The florescent lights were pretty bright in the hallway, so I had to squint. At the receptionist desk, no one was there. This hospital was completely empty around here. "Hello?" I call. Naturally, no answer. I sat in one of the waiting rooms and watched the weather up on the TV.

"So can I just leave?" I ask myself, looking around the room. Then I spot the first weird thing; a magazine. Not just any magazine. A vampire edition. I quickly grab it and read it. It wasn't really the fact that it was about vampires that made me grab it. It was the cover page. It read;

Vampire Prince Sal dies at the hand of a guard.

"What are they doing? They're going to expose themselves..." But I fade off because there was a picture of Sal on the cover too. I read more.

Another vampire was to be killed for breaking the law about vamps and humans associating. A royal guard was to throw a spear at the vamp, but another guard caused the spear to wobble, until it ultimately accidentally hit the prince. Prince Isaac is all we have left for our future.

I shook uncontrollably. Not only did it just reopen the horrible feelings I had again, but I also never felt so responsible for it. Beforehand, I just thought it was all the guards fault. But now...

"What are you doing up?" an unfamiliar voice says from behind me. I quickly set the magazine down and turn around.

Oh my gosh.

He was so handsome! Tall, with pitch black hair that fell over his eyes. His hellish red eyes....

He was my second clue.

"Uh, I just was looking for a fellow living person." The look he gave me was both confused and amused. "Well, Vanessa, there are no living people here." He emphasized no. I just nod and smile awkwardly. "Hey, how come there is no one here?" I ask. "This is an abandoned place. No one's been here in over eighty years." "Over eighty years?!" I said, looking around. It looked so new! He nods. Clue number three. Smiling, he grabs my hand. His smile was heartmelting, and his hand, I thought, would melt my hand.

"Come with me, honey. Let's get you into some more comfortable clothes." He leads me back to the room I started in. "It seems your little boyfriend hasn't been telling you everything." #4. "What do you mean?" I frown. He laughs. "You honestly have no clue, do you?" I shake my head. "Vanessa, you're-" "Vanessa! You're up!" Dalton interrupts. He runs up to me and hugs me. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. You don't feel nearly as cold. What up with that?" "Maybe you're getting used to the cold temperature." the red-eyed boy says. Dalton turns to glare at him. "Dalton? Where am I? What is this place?" "What do you mean?" Dalton asks. "This guy said this building hasn't been used in over eighty years." Dalton's mouth falls open. And number 5. Dalton usually doesn't get stumped.

"Just give it up, you disgusting soul snatcher. Besides, it's my kind you'll be exposing. Obviously it's not a complicated thing for you to do." the guy said. Dalton never looks at him. "If you don't, Wilde, I will." I look from Dalton to the guy, back and forth for a few seconds. "Fine. Vanessa, this hospital is owned by demons." Dalton said.

This is the part in the movie when the girl storms out because she thinks the guy is a jackass.

But this wasn't crazy to me. I believed him. I mean, this guy had red eyes.

"Demons." I state. "That's why you said you weren't supposed to be here." "Yes, they only agreed because we were desperate. We had to beg. We couldn't take you to a normal hospital because-" Dalton stops. "Well...you know." I nod. "Wait, are there actually no doctors here?" I ask. "Nope. I've been taking care of you." the demon said. "This is Kyler. He was the only one willing to help." Kyler smiles, but it wasn't as nice as before. Trust me, it was still attractive, just in an evil sort of way.

"Remember you owe me, Wilde." "What do I owe you?" Kyler looks at him for a long time. Their eyes never tear away from one another. "Nothing much." is all Kyler says, still smiling and looking at Dalton with a long look. I was so confused, I didn't know what to do. "How are your brothers doing?" Kyler asks innocently. "They're fine. How about yours? Didn't you have about five?" Kyler smiles. "Yeah. Four of them died." He still smiles. "Oh my gosh! What happened?" I ask. Dalton obviously didn't want me to ask that. "I killed two, my father killed one, and another fell in lava." I stare at him, heart beating so fast. He laughs at me. "You just consider yourself lucky you aren't a daughter of his. You'd be extremely lucky to live this long." He thinks. "I think the oldest one has gotten to ten. Then father-" "Kyler, please. She doesn't need to hear it." Dalton interrupts again. Kyler's lava-like eyes glared coldly at him.

"Tell her the truth." Kyler spits. "Oh, and you may want to stay inside for awhile. You never know what you might see." That smile returns. This is the sixth clue that things are stranger now. "C'mon, Vanessa. I think you're healthy enough to come home." Dalton says, guiding me out of the creepy hospital.

Kyler calls after us. "Watch your back, Wilde."
