Episode 8: Playtime

"What's the matter Reinhard?" Sebastian asked.

Reinhard avoided eye contact for a while then asked, "May I come in?"

"Sure," Sebastian replied.

Reinhard stepped into the home and took a deep breath before he chuckled softly, "It's been a long time hasn't it?"

Sebastian gave off a friendly smile as he replied, "Yes, it has, I've actually started wondering if you were dead. But it's good to see that you're okay though."

Reinhard glanced at Sebastian for a while and whispered under his breath, "I'm sorry for what I'm about to do."

"Hmm?" Sebastian asked.

"Do you know someone by the name of Ryuga?" Reinhard asked.

"Ryuga?" Sebastian repeated.

Although it was hard for Sebastian to recall any memory of someone with that name, he had the feeling that he should know exactly who that is. He felt as if it was an essential part of him that he has lost, so he tried his best to remember, only to end up in failure.

"No, I don't know who that is," he finally replied.

Reinhard looked a little disappointed but he quickly switched his expression, "It's okay, I never expected you to know him anyways," he sighed, "Just out of curiosity, would you like to know who Ryuga is?"

Sebastian hesitated for a while, but then said, "Yeah... I guess," he replied.

"Okay, but first," Reinhard punched Sebastian in the face, making him fall over the couch.

"What was that for?!?" Sebastian yelled as soon as he was back on his feet.

Reinhard stood in the same area, with his left fist slightly bruised, "You're tougher than I expected," he put up booth fist in a way that signaled for Sebastian to attack, "Looks like I'll have to try harder then."

Stell and Lyn were no longer in any condition to move, because they were officially scared out of their lives. If they haven't evaded as quickly as they did, they both would've been dead.

Ryuga kept his distance and said, "Mikami, see if you can test your luck... With your invisibility, you should be able to pull this off. If you encounter any problems, retreat."

Mikami, who was directly behind him, moved up a little and replied, "Okay, I'll do it."

She became invisible and quickly made her way over to Lexus to perform her special surprise attack.

Mikami was almost behind her, but then Lexus looked at where Mikami was, through the corner of her eye. She wore a wide smile on her face as she rapidly used the sharp end of her weapon in order to stick it through Mikami's stomach.

Due to the wound she received, the invisibility wore off, making her once again visible.

Lexus looked her dead in the eyes as she licked her lips and said, "Have a safe trip to the afterlife," she moved up the bladed end of the ax, ripping Mikami's body in half.

"H-how?" Ryuga asked with tears building up in his eyes, "How did she see her?"

Lexus stood as the wind blew her hair from side to side. The blood from Mikami that was on her face was soon licked off completely as her red eyes shone brightly.

"So what makes you think that your 'Vampire Countermeasures Council' is strong enough to take down the vampires in this area?" the dark skinned man asked.

"I was waiting for you to ask that," Shouji Itami said while pushing up his glasses, "We have a lab, where each of our agents are turned into super powerful beings that should be able to surpass the ranks of almost any vampire."

"Interesting, please continue."

"Each of our agents are made into hybrids," Shouji said, making the room go completely quiet.

"How dare you test out that hypocrisy on the fair people of this country?!" one of the board members yelled.

"Matsui be quiet, I would like to hear the presentation please," the dark skinned man replied.

"Thank you sir," Shouji said as he continued, "These people are made hybrids due to the great machinery we have today. Now we are able to voluntarily create hybrids to vampires, wolves, phantoms, and for the elite soldiers... Warbeast."

As the wind blew, it revealed the label on Lexus' collar, which said 'Elite'. Her eyes shown a dangerous red striking fear into anyone that looked at her.

Ryuga tried, but for some reason, he was unable to take control of her, the only thing looking into her eyes did for him... was make him even more fearful of her.

"Hmph, I'll deal with her," Marco said while bluntly rushing over to Lexus.

Luckily for him, the first four swings Lexus made, have missed. Marco's entire body burst into flames, speeding up his attacks and making them do thrice as much damage as he was able to do before.

While Lexus was temporarily stunned, Marco took the liberty of making a fireball in the palm of his hand.

Before he was able to release the fireball, the hand that it was in, was separated from the rest of his body.

Marco was shocked, and due to the sudden cut, blood began rushing crazily from his missing limb. Marco got frustrated, ready to try his worst on Lexus, but then a sharpened arrow took his head off.

Lexus frowned and said, "I didn't need your help you know."

A man with a large black and green bow strapped onto his back appeared beside Lexus. He had black hair as well, and he wore the same uniform. His eyes shown grey in the dimly lighten area and his uniform had the name, 'Luther' written on it.

"Of course you needed me, if it wasn't for me, you could've died," Luther said.

Lexus snorted, crossed her arms and turned her head in the opposite direction, "You talk too much."

Ryuga manned up and took a step closer as Stell and Lyn joined him.

Ameria who was at the very back said, "I'm fighting too."

Ryuga shook his head, "No you're not."

Ameria held Ryuga's hand and said, "I didn't ask you if I'm fighting, I said I'm gonna fight and you can't do crap about it!"

Eventually, Ryuga accepted the fact that he can't talk her out of it, so he gave her the opportunity to join in.
