In a house with four kids, it seemed they drew straws to choose who woke up earliest each morning. If we were lucky it was Carter or Avelyn, who could do nearly anything for themselves, but Mason and Ellie still needed Mommy and Daddy to help get them things if the older kids weren't yet awake.
It seemed that most days it was Mason who was awake first, and if he was having a good day he'd play in his room on the weekends until we got up, but on rough days we knew immediately when he stepped foot into our room in the wee hours of the morning, usually crying about something random. A lot of the time I could calm him down and get him to at least go lay back down for a while, but it wasn't usually a pleasant day if he'd woken up and come to get us before the sun rose.
The wedding was a week out and on the Sunday of very last counseling session we were supposed to have, Mason was already having a rough morning by 6 am. "Buddy, why don't you try to lay back down in your bed..." I tried to soothe him by rubbing his back. He was laying against my chest and Rocky was grumbling under his breath about not being close enough to me.
"It's early..." I told Mase with a whisper, "And if you go back to sleep you'll get to see Uncle Ry Ry and almost Aunt Karlee in a few hours."
"Promise?" He sniffled.
"Absolutely." I told him.
He got up and I walked him back to his room before closing his door behind me and walking back to my own peaceful bedroom. "Is he really back to sleep?"
"Out like a light." I assured him, "I have the touch."
"You certainly have that effect on me," He laughed tiredly and kissed my cheek.
"I make you tired?" I laughed.
"No, no," He laughed again, "I meant you said you have the touch and I was agreeing... But... It came out weird and I'm tired."
I giggled and pressed my face against his bare chest to drift back asleep.
What seemed like hours later I felt a kiss be pressed to my forehead and my eyes fluttered open. "Well, good morning again..." I sighed and looked up at him.
Rocky smiled at me and scrunched his nose, "You always look so cute in the morning."
"Don't say that..." I laughed, "I look old."
"That is untrue. You look just as young and hot as you did the day I married you." He told me confidently.
"Well, damn, look at you racking up the brownie points with me today..." I kissed his cheek and down his jaw line.
"Mmm..." He moaned and chuckled darkly, "We've got some time?"
"How much time?" I whispered.
"Who knows? It's 8. The kids could sleep late." He said hopefully.
"And if Carter or Avelyn wakes up they can help with the younger ones for a bit..." I raised my eye brows.
"Sounds like we're taken care of then." He sighed and attacked my neck with kisses.
I giggled and kissed him back, "Babe, did you realize this is our last day before wedding insanity starts?"
"Good thing our kids have spring break this week..." He kissed me and his hands traveled up to my shorts I wore.
I moaned softly as his hands grazed my ass and they went up further to my midsection. He groaned lowly and felt up to my breasts and I kissed him hard. Our legs intertwined and I ended up on top of him. My hands traveled down his body to his growing hard-on and I sighed at the feeling of him. There was a knock on the fucking door.
"Shit." He whispered and laughed. "Come in..." He imitated a tired voice.
Carter stepped in quietly, "We have bagels right?" He asked. "I know you guys are sleeping so you can stay in bed, but Mase wants a bagel."
I stuck my head out and sighed, "Mason's bagels are on the top shelf of the pantry yeah... Do I need to come in there?"
"No Ma'am." He shook his head, "Avelyn and I got this. You guys sleep in." He gave a small smile and left with a quiet closing of the door.
"God, we did a good job raising that one." Rocky shook his head and pulled me back on top of him.
"I sure hope the rest of them turn out as precious as him." I said in between kisses.
"Mhm..." Rocky responded and pulled my clothes off entirely.
"What if we have another little visitor?" I asked cautiously.
"Car said he's got it..." His lips traveled down my neck and my chest. "I love this..."
"Me too..." I moaned and he grabbed my breasts firmly in his hands.
"Babyyy," He looked up at me and smirked, "I want you..."
"I'm all yours..." I told him with a kiss. His underwear was off in an instant and he kissed me as he lined himself up with me. One slow thrust and I was already in total bliss. "Oh my god..." I sighed contently.
His groans of pleasure came out in soft noises as to not disturb our calm household. "Jules..." He moaned and kissed my neck as his thrusts became slightly sloppy. His thumb attached to my clit precisely where he knew I loved it and I moaned out. One thing about 14 years with the same person is they know all the tricks.
My breathing became unsteady and I pulled myself against him as I hit my high. I sighed and he kissed my intensely as his came close after mine. "We still got it," He groaned and I giggled quietly.
We could hear someone knocking on our door. "Yeah?" Rocky called out.
"Ryland and Karlee are here." Carter called out, "They brought breakfast."
"Sweet, we'll be down." Rocky called out. He looked at me and kissed me sweetly, "I guess we better mosey our way on down there." He winked at me and got out of our bed. He tossed me a shirt, a bra, and my underwear and shorts from the floor before getting dressed himself to come with me.
We walked hand in hand down stairs and saw Mason sitting on Karlee's lap. They sat quietly reading a story and we waved hello to them before going into the kitchen. Ryland was sitting with Carter, Avelyn, and Ellie eating donuts and kolache's.
Ryland jumped up to hug us both and smiled at his brother, "Did you guys just have sex?" He whispered to us.
"How'd you even know?" Rocky asked quietly.
"Bro, I know that look, you've had that look since you were 18." He teased Rocky and looked at me, "And Juliette didn't even fix her hair." He winked at me and handed us each a cup of coffee.
"Dear god Ryland..." I sighed, "What are we gonna do with you?"
"I just don't know, Jules." He smiled at me and nudged me before going to sit on the couch with Karlee and Mason. We sat down too and Mason got up to go eat with his siblings in the next room where we could see them all.
Rocky picked up the counseling book from the coffee table and sighed, "Well, guys, you've made it this far... And you're gonna do so great." He smiled, "But this is our last session before you get married."
"How crazy..." Karlee smiled and took Ryland's hand, "I'm so excited to be marrying you..."
"I am too baby." He winked at her and kissed his lightly.
I smiled and leaned onto Rocky to continue.
"So we're gonna talk a bit about socializing. And I know Ryland's job is a lot of meeting new people, so how will you guys handle things like that?"
"Well," Karlee thought, "I go to a lot of his hotel events with him, I go to openings and parties and things like that... And his friends are really my friends, because you guys are my friends." She said honestly.
"And Karlee's high school reunion buddies are coming to the wedding which should be fun for me to meet them." Ryland said to us as he nudged his fiancee.
"So will you guys let guests stay over?" I asked.
"Like have visitors yeah," Ryland said, "But I don't know if I could put someone up for months at a time like you guys did for me... That was a burden on you guys and I felt bad."
"We loved having you here Ry..." I assured him, "But you guys would wanna have company?"
"It's a cool thing..." Karlee nodded, "I remember when we first had one of your cousins stay with us for the first time..." She told Ryland and Rocky, "That was one of those first time adult things that is so cool to me. Like there's someone staying in MY house." She smiled, "I just thought that was cool."
"I agree. It's fun." Ryland nodded.
"And along with socializing and guests... How will you deal with alone time?" Rocky lead into the next topic.
"We wanna have a weekly date night..." Karlee nodded and explained, "And certainly always communicating and taking time to talk to each other."
"And taking time to b-a-n-g, you know what I'm sayin'" Ryland went for a fist bump.
"Ryland three out of my four kids can spell bang, genius." Rocky shook his head and rubbed his tired eyes. "Anyways... You guys will find it difficult to do some of these things especially when you get too used to be married, or when you're busy, or tired, or when you have kids. But it's so important to find time to show your love. Really. In any form." He looked at Ryland.
I took Rocky's hand and spoke, " And you guys are doing great..." I nodded, "You communicate well, you agree, you're both flexible. I think you're gonna do great. But there's one thing I asked you both to bring today which is?" I asked.
"Vows." They both smiled and said at the same time.
"Are they memorized?" I asked as they handed me and Rocky the folded pieces of paper.
"No..." Ryland shook his head, "You guys will hand them to us at the ceremony right?"
"Oh absolutely," I nodded, "Just after the ceremony we're gonna have frames for you to put them both in. But I needed them in advance to buy the right size frames."
"Damn are you organized..." Karlee laughed, "I knew I hired you and Jenna for a reason."
"You've been a great bride to work with." I told her with a smile, "Next up is bachelor and bachelorette parties." I said with my hands together devilishly.
"Oh god..." Karlee sighed, "Is it gonna be bad?"
"So bad you'll love it." I assured her with a giggle.
"We're gonna drink beer and watch hockey at your bachelor party bro." Rocky said simply.
"Your place or?" He asked.
"Nah, Ross' because Mom and Dad are watching the kids here for everyone that night." Rocky explained.
"Sweet." Ryland nodded, "I'm game."
"That's easy enough." I stood up, "Alright guys... You've done your pre-marital counseling, you've gotten your license, you've written your vows." I sighed and smiled at the as they stood, "The last thing to do is get married."
"We're so ready." Ryland took her hand.
"So ready." Karlee smiled at him.
"So were we..." Rocky reminisced, "And now it's been 14 years and 4 kids." He looked into the kitchen, "Let's eat some breakfast?"
I agreed with him and walked with them into the breakfast room, "Sounds great to me."
