Chapter Two:
Kenzie's P.O.V:
'Hey Kenz, I just got a text from Rick, he says he and Shane will be a little late, they had a trouble maker and had to arrest him giving them a little more paper work to do, but he says there really sorry and promise to be there as soon as they can.' she says reading the text she just got.
'Oh! well that's okay, the joys of dating a police officer right? Anyway it just means more drink for us.' I said with a grin causing Ruby to grin as she checked her watch for the third time in the last fifteen minutes.
'Very true m'dear very true. speaking of we are both in dire need of a top up, same again?'
'Please.' I nodded handing her my empty glass.
'Right, I shall top us up while you miss go put some tunes on.' Ruby said making her way to the kitchen. I grabbed my iPod (Ipid lol) from my handbag and placed it on the dock pressing play. my ears were soon greeted by the sound of Joey Jordison killing it on the drums, which was quickly interrupted by the sound of my phone dancing around the coffee table as it vibrated telling me I had a call. I quickly push pause and grab it seeing Lia's name on my screen.
'Lia what's up, everything okay?'
Lia proceeded to tell me that the club was experiencing electrical trouble, she had called the electrician but he will be over an hour and the party guests are very unhappy and are asking to talk to the manager aka Me!
'Okay calm down Lia, tell them how very sorry we are give them drinks on the house for the inconvenience and reassure them I am on my way and I will get everything straightened out when I arrive. I will be there in fifteen, twenty minutes tops okay.' she agreed and we signed off. I turn to see Ruby standing on the kitchen doorway with our drinks in hand looking confused so I filled her in.
'Okay, not to worry here is what we will do....' she handed me my glass and took a seat. 'We will call a cab drink our drinks while we wait, go to the club get the problem fixed, head on back here, by then the guys should have finished and we can also hit the liquor store on the way home.' I nodded and let out a deep sigh.
'I just knew something was going to happen, I could feel it in my gut, I shouldn't have taken the night off, not with a party going on.'
'Hey calm down everything will be fine okay? she took me by the shoulders and made me look at her 'Okay?' she had a goofy grin on her face and I couldn't help but laugh.
'Okay, I'll call the cab.'
Once I done so, we finished our drinks just in time as the cab rolled up outside.
At the club I hand the driver a twenty telling him to keep the change as I hurry out when I see the club is in fact in darkness.
My best bouncer Liam stood outside puffing a cigarette.
'Hey Kenzie, Happy Birthday.'
'Thank you Liam, so uh what's going on, do you know?'
'I was standing here greeting a few of the party goers when everything just powered down, Lia was in a tizz trying to figure out what was going on, calling the electrician you and trying to keep everyone under control, it seems the party goers are not amused though, good luck.'
'Oh great, just freaking great. Thanks Liam.' I said stepping inside. trying to feel my way through the darkness. 'Rubes do you have your phone? I left mine in the rush to the cab.'
