Chapter 14

Remember when I said how happy I was that my two family were spending time together.Well i'm not so happy anymore,why?. Well lets just say that my adoptive family had been telling few stories to Mom and Dad of all the things I had stupidly done when I was a kid.

"Really?! She did that!" Greg (Dad) said bursting in fit series of laughter, making me roll my eyes.

"Yes! she was like four and when this kid tried to kiss her she punched him in the face!" Dad (adoptive parent) replied laughing whilst wiping his tears.

"Are you done now." I said glaring at them both causing them to just laugh even more.

"You know what I'm out." I said getting up and headed outside.

I walked to mama's cafe and sat down ordering a chocolate muffin and some tea.

"Here you go" Mrs Landon the oldest waitress said Placing my muffin and cup of tea on the table. Mrs Landon was like a grandma to me, I often come here to just talk to her.

"So how are your studies going?" She asked sitting on the chair on the opposite side of mine.

"Ugh! don't talk about it! I mean I have been doing some progress but I just wish I had done better" I pouted making her laugh.

"Don't worry dear your efforts will pay off, Now excuse me I have some tables to clean" She said patting my shoulder before walking off.

I sipped my tea thinking about few ways to  progress in class when I heard someone clearing their throat. I looked up to see the one and only Tanner. Gosh not him...

"Hey" He said sitting on the chair that was on the opposite side of mine.

"Hey.." I slowly said wondering what he wanted now.

"So hows life" He asked flashing me a smile.

"Are you dating Brooke" I asked. He definitely might be as he looked taken aback by my sudden question.

"Um" He coughed. 

I just stared at him trying to make him talk.

"Not really, It's true we might have kissed few times but that doesn't make us a couple" He said.

"I beg to differ. Usually when you kiss someone the kiss has to have a meaning." I said and he shrugged.

"Also rumor has it that Brooke asked you to date me then crush my little heart afterwards.. And all that just because she has seen me with Aaron.." I said whilst taking a bite into my chocolate muffin.

"I didn't picture you as the one to believe in some rumor" He said looking hurt.

"I- I'm sorry" I frowned looking down at my plate.

"It's alright, that's what people always expect me to act like anyways" He said.

"I really didn't mean to hurt you, It's just some rumor I heard and just felt like telling you" I frowned again. God Elise why you so dumb! never believe rumors again!

"It's alright" He said looking at the time on his watch "um I got to go, see you". I don't know why I felt so bad but I did, so I got up and ran after him.

 "I'm sorry! is there anything I could do to show how sorry I am" I asked him making him smile.

"I'll think about it, talk to you later" He said kissing my cheeks making me go all red before  walking away.

The next day at school I heard few more rumors about Tanner but decided to ignore them anyways.

"Hey Elise wait!" I heard Tanner call out making few people stop talking to stare at him.

"Er..yes?"

"Remember how you said that you would do anything to prove me that you were sorry?" He asked and I nodded.

"Well meet me tonight at this party" He said handing me a paper on which was written an address.

"Sure" I said smiling before walking to class.

I couldn't help but smile, Tanner is really something else I thought smiling and shaking my head.

"So you really are going to that party" Aaron asked making me nod.

"I thought you didn't like him" Nathan besides me asked.

"I don't like him the way you're thinking" I said making him hum in disagreement.

Rolling my eyes I turned back to Aaron "Are you going to be there?".

"nope people like us don't get invited to those types of parties" Carmen said making me raise an eyebrow at her.

"what do you mean by 'people like us'? " I asked

"the people who aren't exactly popular" She said

"Well I got Invited" Aaron said making her gasp.

"Traitor! you said you weren't going!" She accused.

"I got invited to!" Wilson smirked making her gasp again.

"So did I cutie" Nathan winked at her making me chuckle.

She gasp again. "You are all traitors! We are no longer friends.." She said pouting.

"You could come, I'm sure they won't mind" I winked making her send me a toothy smile.

"Okay! we are friends again!" She said making us all laugh.

But I just knew that something bad was going to happen tonight.
