I heard a knock on my door. I slammed the book that I was reading shut. Someone knocked again. I ran toward the door and opened it. I looked up, and there, standing right infront of me was President Eliza Snow. "Oh..." I bowed a very low bow. "Oh, yes, yes. It is amazing being a president, you know? Here, come with me..." I smiled, but inside me I felt weird. Her eyes watched be like a sly hawk. Then he face changed, she looked like a sparrow who had stolen your food and flew away without feeling a bit guilty.
I walked with the President for a long time until we reached the elevator to go to the roof. "Are you the girl?" She asked, "The what?" I asked. "The girl, from District 1 who pretended to be from District 11." The glint in her eye scared me. I took a short breath and said, " I know nothing about this girl. But, I think I know who she is. She is a girl back from home, Her name is Maple Huckleberry Sapling. She wasn't really my friend, but she lived with me. My mother got killed when I was five years old. I was raised by my step-mom as long as I can remember. Maple was like my step sister, but I hate her." I had lied in most of this, but not in the part that I hated Maple. "About your mother, Paylor, do you remember her?" I looked up at the President. "No, I am sorry. Only her warm smile." I felt a tear go down my cheek. Then another, then another. I started crying. Hard. In front of President Snow. Right There. I hid my face in my hands. And what happened next, stunned me the most. The President hugged me, a warm hug, that meant to fill me with joy. "You know, I have children of my own. If I ever lose them, I would cry for ever and ever until I died. It's going to be okay." She left, and let me sitting on the bench.
About five minutes after President Snow left me alone, Fenn came. He sat down on the bench with me. "What are you doing here?" I asked, a bit bitterly. "I thought I would come to cheer you up." He said in a low whisper. I looked at him in the eyes. My eyes were still teary. Then, surprisingly, I hugged him. He tensed up, then relaxed. I let go. "Are you fine now?" He asked. "Yeah, if you call this weird moment fine, I guess so." I sighed. "See you tomorrow at the Training Center? I was planning on eating dinner up here, so if you would like to join me..." I asked him. "I am kind of sorry for this but..." He leaned toward me and kissed me on the cheek. My cheeks flamed. Red curled up my cheeks. I looked away, not wanted to see me blushing. "You are like her, you know. Her name is Evie Angelo You remind me of her alot." He paused. "You wanted this to happen right? Your wish came true."
After Fenn had left, I stood in the same spot in shock. Then out of nowhere came Bailey, clapping in a very slowly and dramatic way. "How long have you been staring at me. TELL ME, OR I SWEAR..." "Relax Lady. To answer your question, I have been standing beside those shrubs over there since about Fenn came. That was a weird moment you had over there. I couldn't quite hear, so what did he say?" He pushed a piece of hair from out of my face, and tucked it behind my ear. "It... it doesn't matter." "Oookay, I really want to know Paylor, is there something bothering you?" He asked. He held my hand tightly. "IT DOESN'T MATTER! I ALREADY TOLD YOU, IT DOESN'T MATTER! MY WHOLE LIFE I HAVE BEEN HAVING PEOPLE WALK RIGHT BEHIND ME ASKING 'ARE YOU OKAY, IS ANYTHING WRONG?' BUT YES, SOMETHING IS WRONG. I HAVE BEEN A PUPPET FOR MOST OF MY LIFE AND JUST A FEW HOURS AGO SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT I WAS THEIR LONG LOST SISTER!!!" I yelled. I glared at him as tears streamed down my eyes. I stalked away, slamming the door and walking towards the elevator.
