I wake up with a start, a bead of sweat dripping down my head. I look to my left and see Bailey sleeping peacefully next to me. I look at his jacket. Inside there's something hanging... I was interrupted by a knock on my door. I don't have time to move Bailey. I hear Lily knocked on the door saying " Paylor, Bailey, it's time to see the training scores!" Immediately Bailey wakes up. I shoo him out of my room so that I can change my sweaty clothes. After changing my clothes, went to the living room where I found everybody sitting on the couch watching the training scores. " You missed Zoe's, Kym's and everybody else's, right now it's the tributes of district 9." Bailey says yawning. Finding a seat next to Zane, I fix my eyes on the television. "Now coming to the tributes of District eleven," I hear Augustus Flickerman say. Bailey's picture comes up, then the scores. A big number 7 popped up. We all cheered for Bailey. Then a picture of me scowling. Zane and Lily laughed. Then slowly a number eleven zoomed in. I couldn't breathe. Everybody was cheering and and hugging me. Zane kissed me on the cheek. Gasping for air, I took a drink for the side table. A good dinner really fixed me up. Zane was cheering loudly for me. "Hey Paylor, why don't I show you your dress for the interview this evening," says Zane. Before I can answer Augustus Flickerman speaks again, "...and now, if anyone missed the scores all of the tributes!" I see everyone pictures and everyone's scores. Nico has a 9, Raven a 9, Fenn a 10, Zoe a 11. Kym and Kayla both got 10's too. Then I realize that I'm actually going to the Hunger Games and I'm going to die. I know what to do next. I pick up the phone and call down to floor 7. It's 4 o'clock. The Interview starts in 3 hours. "Hello, who is it?" I hear on the line. "Paylor Dove, eleventh floor tribute of District 11," I say. "Can Kym and Kayla meet me at the roof?" The person on the line laughs. " Paylor, it's me!" "Kayla!"

"Yes, I think me and Kym should be able to meet you on the roof in a few minutes." "Okay" I say then I end the line. I run to the elevator. Bailey stops me, "Where are you going Paylor?" "To the roof" "With Fenn?" he asked looking hurt. "No, with my best friends." "Oh," he says looking disappointed. I meet Kym and Kayla on the roof. We laugh, and talk. Half and hour passes. I realize I should go back we watch the early 5 o'clock sunset. Then we leave the roof.

I walk toward my room, with a smile on my face. I hear whistling in the next hallway. I think about going to check out who's whistling. I peek over the side of the wall so I can only see a little. "... Son, congrats on your 7. Did you get enough information on that girl Paylor? She seems to be really good. Watch out for her in the games." I don't see the person who's speaking, but I recognize her voice. It's President Snow! Bailey's mom, how can it be? "But Mother, spare the girl. She's nice. I like her and she likes me!" President Snow raised her hand and Bailey stopped talking. "Don't order me around. I order you around. You are one of my least favorite children and I haven't seen you for fifteen years. I'm not used to having you around anymore. Look Bailey, this girl is going to find out eventually, so don't get caught up with affairs with her." "What!?!?! How do you know?!?!" "Just always remember, I see all and know all." President Snow walked away. Bailey sighed. I ran toward my room and and closed the door quickly. About two milliseconds later, my prep team came in.

. . .

"... and I made some for your friends too!" Zane looks over at me. "Paylor, were you listening to me?" I look at him with a confused look. "No, sorry." "Well, as I was saying, I made matching pin's for you and your friends." He held one up. He had three other matching platinum pins. He also held up three rings, all inscripted with The Rebel's Game. "Why do the rings say The Rebel's Game? Who's the rebel?" Zane didn't respond for a few seconds. "You'll find that out yourself when you are ready." When Zane was about to leave I asked him, "Zane, there's this Gamemaker, I think he's the head Gamemaker, but he kind-of feels close to me. I look like him. I think he's my fath..." The rest of my question was drowned by a super loud horn. "That's your cue! Put your dress on and get ready."

I walk into the bathroom where my stylists do my hair and makeup. I jump into my dress. The silk was smooth against my skin. I had never worn something so expensive ever in my life before. As I looked at myself in the mirror, I turned and fixed my hair. It was a short dress, which was made out of a cloth which resembled bark. It was a stunning grey color which shone in the lights. It had imprints of bright blue leafs which contrasted against the gray. As I went down to the platform, I saw the tributes of district 8 trailing behind me. "She doesn't know......She doesn't know........." moaned the girl. I turned around. She held her head and kept moaning. The boy put his shoulder around her and led her away, looking back at me with pity in his eyes. Wondering what who didn't know I walked on to the steps of the stage where I met everybody Bailey, the girl from District 2, her partner, Raven, Fenn, and Nico. "You're out early," said Raven staring at my dress. I smiled shyly at her. "What happened to your hair?!" gawked the girl from District 2. "Don't be rude, Crystal," said Crystal's partner. I checked in the glass and said, "Nothing, I think my stylist just wanted to show the wild inside of me," She glared at me as if i had said something very offensive to her.

I laughed. My laughter resonated against the walls. Bailey, Nico and Fenn turned. Nico smiled. "Wow Paylor," said Bailey, "you look..." "Fantastic, amazing, beautiful, and a lot of other words that don't exist in English," interrupted Fenn, blushing furiously, then he dove behind the curtains. Raven sniggered, and I glared at her. She left to start her interview by diving beneath the curtains just to mock Fenn. Soon, Fenn, Nico, Zoe, Percy, Kym, and Kayla were called. They all talked about how much they loved Capitol, and they read poems and told short stories on Capitol, making the audience laugh, cry and even faint. Then my name was called.

I started sweating like crazy. I walked slowly up to the stage with Bailey consoling me from behind. I sat on a plush velvet chair next to Augustus Flickerman, Caesar's nephew. "So, Paylor," he asked, "is it true that you are from District 1?" I gulped. Yes of course!! I thought, but instead I mumbled, "no." "Well then," he said, "do you know who is?" "Yes, her name is Maple Drummond." The voice inside my head was screaming, What are you thinking Paylor! You're falsely accusing somebody for something they're not! She is your cousin!! "So Paylor, as you continue your stay here, what has been your least favorite thing in Capitol?" That was it. The crowd went wild, screaming that Capitol had nothing wrong. But all I said was, " Probably the fact that you find people you really love, as friends and family, then you realize that you are going to have to kill them." That settles everybody down as I start to see tears forming in Augustus's eyes. "So, is there anything bothering you about Capitol? Anything. Tell the audience anything." I thought for a second. "Well, there is one person. He's a Gamemaker. I don't know his name. All I know is that he bothers me for some reason. From the first day I saw him, I realized there was something about him that I remember." I look at Augustus. "Who is this gamemaker, I ask." I look up at where all the gamemakers are sitting, and point at the one sitting in the front. "Him."
