I think I'm having one of my nightmares again.
Everything is dark and I can hear the harsh pattering of rain in the distance. I feel like I'm moving but not on my own. Foot slaps combine with the rain to make a pattern that rings on for what feels like hours.
I slowly unclamp my eyes to find a women's face, covered and guarded with a black vale that seems to be hiding more than just her pale face from the rest of the world. I continue to look up, bouncing with every step she takes as she runs through crowded alleys. The women continuously looks behind her as if something is chasing her. I want to look but if I turn my head all I can see is her black covered chest, rising up and down rapidly to mimic her raspy breathing. We continue to swerve in and out of alleys. Right, left, right, left, right, on and on until we reach a dark street. The only light was from a quiet two story house that still looked as dark as the rest of the street. I gasped and the women looked down make me cry out confused.
"Hush my child. You'll be safe soon." She whispered, running her slim fingers along my cheek. I began to squirm as I continued to cry out. I didn't want to be here, all I wanted was to be back at home but for some reason I couldn't wake up.
She ran across the street, not even bothering to look both ways as she went. We rushed up the stairs and the women raised a frail hand up to knock on the door. We waited and as we did, the women's vale slid upwards slightly as she reached up to fix her hair, pushing it away from her eyes. She looked down and I let out another cry.
It was Tia.

Gasping for breath, sat up immediately, swinging my head back and fourth with a wild look in my eyes. Tia was sitting in the same spot with concern filling all of her features.
"Blaise? Are you all right? You passed out for a second." She said reaching out to brush a hand over my cheek. I flinched away being reminded of the nightmare......or was it a memory?
"I'm fine, I-I just need a moment." I replied. That was a lie of course. My head was pounding as if Tia's feet were still running through the streets around in my mind and my whole body was shaking. I bet I looked like a lunatic but at the moment I could care less.
"Are you sure? Do you want some water?" She pried. It kind of annoyed me how close she was so I just nodded my head yes to get her to leave. How could she possibly seam like she cared now? After all of these flipping years, why does she show up now?
"Okay, I'll go get some. I'll be right back" She rose from her spot and headed towards the door. I didn't say anything. I just continued to stare straight ahead towards the wall in front of me.
As soon as the door shut and I heard the last of Tia's foot steps, I took a pillow and threw on my face letting out a well deserved scream. The only question in my head at the moment was why. Why didn't she come earlier? Why now? Why me?
I kept up the screaming until I heard her heels again. The door opened and I dropped the pillow onto my stomach.
"Here you are sweetheart." She handed me a tall glass and I drained it in one gulp. I glanced up at her before handing her the drink. She took it and set it down on the table next to my bead.
"I bet you have a lot of questions don't you?" I simply nodded my head focusing my attention back on to the wall.
She let out a sigh before sitting down in the same spot.
"Well, shoot away." There was a long pause. I couldn't think of what to ask first. I let out a deep breath before opening my mouth to speak.
"Why?" I whispered.
