After leaving the store, we got back on the road and started on the rest of the drive. It took us about twelve more hours until we finally entered the state of Nevada. Of course we still had another five or so until we got where we needed to be but that's okay, I can survive that right?

Not. At. All.

I was about ready to pull my hair out at the intense awkward silence that seamed to fill the entire car down to the engine itself, it's loud roar increasing the awkwardness of it all. I huffed out a breath and leaned my head against the window causing my cheek to squish up slightly. I closed my eyes and thought about what would be happening back at home right about now. It was dark here so I presumed it would be the same there meaning every single one of them were probably fast asleep. I can practically picture Cali and the way she sucked her thumb and scrunched up her eyebrows as if she was concentrating extremely hard on her dream. Her adorable little figure would probably be curled up and her small hands clutched around her favorite blanket.

I let out a second huff of breath causing Tia to look over worriedly. I frowned, not really wanting her to notice me being uncomfortable cause that would only lead to an emotional breakdown for the both of us. I swear we had about twenty of them on the way down, I was so exhausted from them that I would literally fall down to the floor of the car and beg for her to not start the conversation, or take my tongue out if that meant not having to say anything about the matter. A little extreme maybe but I don't care, call me desperate, cause it's true.

The beam of light from the cars head lights bounced off of the trees as we passed, putting an emphasis on the dark shadows and underbrush of the woods around us. I flinched a bit remembering the shadowy figure that appeared in the room yesterday, the thought causing a shiver to accompany the grimace.

"So, umm....did you want to uh, stop and get something to eat?" Tia's soft voice rang in the silent car. I nodded my head as my stomach made a loud grumbling noise at the same time. Tia let a small smile slip before going back to her blank stare.

"I'll take that as a yes. There's this nice little grill I found on my way up, maybe I could find it again and we can go there." I nodded my head again, not caring if she actually saw it.

The car was once again filled to the brim with awkward silence as we continued driving. I glanced out the window, watching the trees go by as I started to let my eyes drop. They were nearly closed when a flash of light dashed in front of the car.

"Ahh!" Tia cried, jerking the wheel to the left in order to avoid the object. There was a cliff right near the edge of the road and we started rolling down the side. I let out a small yelp and grasped onto my seat belt, making sure my grip was tight. My eyes widened even more than before as the same flash, this time in a light blue color, crossed our path from the other side.

"Oh my cheese and crackers!!" I screeched as I went into a fetal position, covering my head in desperation. I feel like if this was a movie, Tia would take the oh so precious time we had to ask me why I said cheese and crackers of all things but sadly it wasn't so that time was spent how it should be.

Screaming and yelling at the top of our lungs while the car flips over to our deaths.

I crouched there, accepting the inevitable and crying out all my "I love you's" when our car suddenly came to a halt.

In mid air.

What the actual flip.

I slowly uncurled my body and stretched out, only to curl back up when I saw that the hood of the car was facing down towards the ground, and the window in front of me was completely shattered but somehow staying inside the frame.

"Blaise? Are you alright?" I heard Tia whisper but I didn't even look up to nod my head or reassure her. I just held my fetal position and didn't say a word. All I could think about were the streaks of misty color that caused us to almost die and the fact that the car wasn't even touching the ground even the slightest bit.

"Ummmm, Blaise?" this time I mumbled but still didn't move. Tia let out a sigh of relief and leaned back into the chair.

We stay there for a while, our intermixed breath fogging up the windows. When the car jerked, I gasped and waited for the impact but only felt the car begin to descend slowly, its wheels gently dropping onto the grass.
Once we were on solid ground, I uncurled my body and looked directly at Tia.

"What the hell was that...." I whispered to Tia, knowing she had the exact answer.

She let out a sigh, her shaky fingers wiped across her forehead and sucked back in. I waited for her to answer as the silence grew to be unbearable.

"Okay so that was ummm.....I'm not exactly sure how to explain this....but those flashes were uh, elements...."

I stared at her blankly, not sure if I should believe her but then thought of how the fire had rushed out of me at the orphanage. My eyes widened in fear and confusion, not entirely grasping the idea that people could control elements still.

"Well who did that?" I asked.

"It seams as if we were in the middle of some sort of a battle," Tia answered. I rose an eyebrow to emphasis.

"They...they were uhh....well you see.....ummm." I rolled my eyes at her stuttering in irritation.

"Just tell me!" I yelled in exasperation, my hands not bothering to fly up for fear of what the car would do.

Tia let out a shaky sigh and ran a hand through her long hair.

"Well....those were....witches.."

Repite por favor? Witches.

I had this sudden surge of anger towards her. Was she making this up?

"What!? That's not true, tell me what actually happened! And don't lie" I said in a low voice, not having any energy to express my anger towards her any further than the glaring I have been doing. Tia straightened up and stared straight at me.

"I am not lying to you. I would never lie to you and I have never lied to you."  Tia stated. I could tell she was starting to get irritated with me as well. Being in a car with someone you don't know very well can do that to you.

"I don't believe it....How can I though? Witches, that's flipping crazy...oh my geez this is the rediculous..." I ranted out. I stared hard at Tia until she let out her own outburst.

"Listen Blaise, I am telling you the complete truth. And you know what? I haven't even gotten to the most shocking part yet! You want to know what it is Blaise? It would explain so many of your troubles but you wont believe it will you? But you know what, you'll have to learn to except it like the rest of us!!" She yelled.

I stared blankly at her unsure if I should ask what it was but was beaten to the question by its own answer.

"Blaise Hunter, you're a witch, and you're gonna have to learn to believe it whether you like it or not because in any second it could determine whether you live or die."

I was breathing heavy now, confusion clouding my brain with questions, the main one blaring in my head.

Was this real?
