"You still have that kunai?" I asked, smiling slightly.
He reached into his pouch and pulled it out, "Haven't been on a mission without it."
I smiled then nodded. I turned around and faced the Hokage, Tsunade, confused. Even though he left me there so many years ago, he still carries that around? I probably lost it on a mission long ago, or perhaps it was confiscated while I was in the Stone Village. What about the other two, Rin and Obito? Minato-Sensei? Where are they at? Sure, Kakashi was my best friend when I was a kid, but shouldn't they be here also?
"What about the-," I stopped short, remembering the dream that I had only a few days before. If Tsunade-Sama is correct and that dream was actually a memory, then in that memory, Obito died... "Never mind."
The Hokage nodded her head. "Right. Well, I already have a room set up for you," She started rummaging through her cabinets then pulled out a piece of paper. "Here," She handed it to me. "It's a map to the place you'll be staying at. You'll have a roommate, but I'm sure they won't mind. They're not home a lot anyhow."
I nodded slowly, taking in this information. "I didn't bring any of my things... Just what I have on me at the moment."
The Hokage smiled. "Did you have anything of great importance at the Stone Village? We could send somebody to go get it."
I shook my head. "All I really had was clothes and extra fighting material."
"I'll make sure that that's all taken care of. I'll just give you money for the time being," She said while going through her cabinets once again. "To buy clothes and such. What girl doesn't like new clothes, eh?"
"Right..." I bowed my head. "I apologize for being an inconvenience to you."
Lady Tsunade stopped rummaging through her cabinets and looked up at me. "You're not being an inconvenience. Actually," She shook her head. "We welcome you back to the Leaf Village with open arms!"
I felt my eyes widen slightly. "Thank you, Lady Hokage."
She smiled then pulled out an envelope. "This should be enough money to supply you with everything that you should want for the time being. Spend it how you please."
She handed it to me as I nodded. "Thank you..."
"There is one last thing that I need to tell you, Akane," she smiled.
I put the map and money envelope into my kunai pouch. "What is it, Lady Hokage?"
She smiled and tilted her head. "Welcome home."
I bit my lip and looked down. A weird feeling started forming in my stomach that I've never felt before. Is this what she meant by gaining my emotions back? "Thank you, Lady Hokage."
"That is all. Dismissed!"
I bowed then walked out with Kakashi right behind me. I pulled the map out and studied it.
"Need help?" Kakashi asked, looking over my shoulder at the map.
"I can read a map," I replied, though that didn't stop him from reaching over my shoulder and attempting to grab it.
"I can do it myself," I said as I pulled it away from him. Perhaps we were friends as children, but this man is a stranger to me. And the only memory I have is of him leaving me to fend for myself.
"Not this time," Kakashi whispered.
"Hm?"
"It's nothing," he sighed. "Just let me help you."
With a sigh, I handed him the map.
"Hmm..." I looked at the map as he traced it with his finger. "I can't guarantee you'll be happy with where your living accommodations are currently located."
"Why not?" I asked slowly.
"It's going straight to my house," he sighed with his eyes closed.
I glared. "So I get to live with the person who left me to die all those years ago?"
His head shot up and the one eye that was visible was wide in shock. "You remember..?"
"At this very moment, that is all I remember." I quickly grabbed a kunai and pointed it towards him. "Had it not been for the kindness your Hokage showed me, you would be dead."
He didn't even attempt to get in a position to protect himself and simply looked towards the sky. "I sometimes wonder if that would have been better. If I could go back and switch positions with Obito, I would. Not only would he be alive, but you wouldn't have gone through all that you did. I apologize everyday to my team, hoping they can hear me on the other side" he sighed. "Including you. I'm sorry, Akane."
I slowly lowered my kunai at his sincerity, simultaneously noticing a small book pointing slightly out of his kunai pouch.
"What's that?" I asked, gesturing towards the book.
He looked down and almost instinctively went to cover the book, but I snatched it before he could.
"Don't--!"
"Make Out Paradise?" I looked up at him then shook my head. "So I get to live with a killer who reads porn... Great..."
