Keith urban sick Imagines (WATTYS2019) Requests greatly appreciated

Horrible day/caught in the rain

You drove around late at night with your personal protection dog Duke looking for your husband Keith.

His car had broken down far from the house and it was pouring rain.

You finally see him sitting on the side of the road soaked and shaking.

You pull over and immediately jump out of the car and run to him you immediately kiss him on the lips and he eagerly kisses you back.

Once you pull apart you get a good long look at him.

He's pale and doesn't look well his eyes are wet with tears as you help him to his feet and lead him to your car you bring him over the passenger side and watch as he opens the door and climbs in. "Was your car picked up?" You ask as you start the car and start driving as he closes the door he's shaking and sniffling.

"Yes" he mumbles weakly.

He looks away and you can tell he feels ashamed.

You reach over and grab a blanket from the counsel between the seats and reach over to wrap the blanket around him.

He's sobbing silently and looking down.

Duke your German Shepherd whines and climbs from the back to sit down in front of Keith.

You watch as Duke lays his head on Keith's lap. Keith reaches down to pet him.

"So what happened? What made you want to take a long ride?" You ask in your concerned tone of voice.

He doesn't say anything just silently sobs and keeps petting Duke.

"I just needed you" He says quietly "it's ok buddy it's alright your safe now" you say almost reading his mind as you drive home.

20 minutes later

Once you get home it's still pouring down rain you immediately turn the car off and open the door Keith gets out as well as Duke and you both slam the doors shut then run into the house.
Once your inside you demand Keith to go take a warm shower and change into clean clothes. He immediately goes to do what you command.

10 minutes later

He comes down the stairs in clean and dry clothes but he's still shaking and pale. He comes over and sits next to you on the couch.

He shivers as you get up to get two blankets from the blanket basket and once you get back over to him.

You wrap the blankets around him trying to get him warm you sit next to him and hug him close as he begins to cry he buries his head against your shoulder.

Duke gets up from his spot on the floor and comes over to you he places his front paws on your lap to reach up and lick Keith's face.

"Shh baby shh shh it's ok bud your ok now shh" you say gently in an attempt to calm him down.

He wails and whimpers loudly. "Shh buddy quiet down you'll wake the girls" you say in a whisper.
2 minutes later. The girls creep down the stairs you don't even hear them.

They are standing on the stairs when Sunday calls "Mommy?" You look up and frown.
"what's wrong with Daddy?" She asks

"is daddy ok?" Faith asks.

"Yes girls he's fine he's just had a bad day is all why don't you come and give him a hug to make him feel better?" You ask.

They nod Sunday leads the way down the stairs she reaches
Keith first and pushes Duke aside and hugs Keith and kisses his face.

Faith joins her. You smile and pull away letting the girls hug him. He sniffs and hugs them close.

We love you Daddy" the girls say in unison. "Thank you" he says a small smile on his face.

The girls pull away and they hug you too before you tell them to go back to bed.

"Will Daddy be ok?" Sunday asks
"Yes Sunday he's alright ok? Don't worry" you say as the girls head back upstairs.

Once they are upstairs in their rooms. You turn to Keith "you want to sleep down here on the couch tonight with me?"

You ask he nods as you go and grab a blanket and join him on the couch and call Duke to join you and right after you get comfortable with Keith snuggling against you and Duke laying next to Keith you both fall asleep.

A/N Hey Everyone Paige here I hope you enjoy this I came up with this 2 hours ago and started writing determined to finish it. Well it's late I need to go to bed night Everyone.
