The school bell rang for the last time that day, I couldn't help but give a huge sigh of relief as I finally walked outside the stuffy class. We had successfully managed to hand in my assignment just before due time and I think it turned out even better than my last one, since Takeshi had helped me on the bits which left blank previously. Now Takeshi had ran off to baseball practice and since I wasn't in any clubs or had any other acquaintances besides him, I did the only thing I could do: go home.

As I walked out of the main gate I let my feet take over as they had been hard wired into this route since I began high school. Meanwhile I let my mind retreat into its 'garden'. It wasn't a very big garden, in fact it it looked felt more like a forest. A small clearing surrounded by huge and wise old trees which stretched a dozen meters to greet a midnight blue canopy sprinkled with billions of stars. The grass was ankle length and very soft, enough so for one to sink into and never wake up. Fireflies danced around the field and the scent of cinnamon filled the air. I had been coming to this place a lot lately. There was no specific reason, it just felt-

"WATCH OUT!"  someone yelled from somewhere behind, whisking me back into reality. I wheeled around and was swept off my feet. My vision became a mess of information, breath was knocked out of me and I couldn't even begin to describe the excruciating pain which had suddenly plagued my lower body. I had been swept off my feet, yes, but somehow I hadn't hit the ground yet. It took me full minute to realize that I was hanging over some kind of scooter handle bar going at a speed which shouldn't be possible for a scooter. My feet dangled off either side of the front wheel while my head was resting in someone's crotch.

Somewhere during my descriptive process I must have realized where my head was and immediately snapped it up, however this was a mistake as it hit someone's jaw, unfortunately this person was yelling which only made things worse, as they, in all likely hood, bit their tongue. My head hurt and my vision blurred for a second and I clenched my eyes shut hoping that this wasn't some sort of bad dream, and then that second was over.

As I opened my eyes I found myself looking at a face of an angel. An angel with soft lilac eyes, an angel wearing a helmet in which underneath her dark and beautiful hair swayed, an angel that-

"CRAP, WE'RE GONNA DIE!" the angel cut in through my monologue. Her un-angelic language had woken me up from my haze reminding me we were barreling down the street at an alarmingly fast pace.  I looked behind me to see the street curving downhill towards Lake Namimori.

This is bad.

"HIT THE BRAKES," I yelled, coming to my senses.

"DON'T YOU THINK I WOULD HAVE TRIED BY NOW GENIUS?" Her tone definitely not that of an angel. I felt myself slowly sliding down the bright yellow scooters handle bar as the street went past in a blur and it was then that I found myself doing the only thing a normal human would care to do in this situation: I started screaming.

Inspired by me, the woman in the angel facade also started screaming. I tried to calm down but with every meter of street we crossed I couldn't help but let the world know that I was departing from it. We were fast approaching the harbor and now I could clearly see that we were about to crash into the wooden barrier which separated the land from the lake. Hundreds of face blurred past us as we neared our impending doom, none of them capable of helping.

Usually this would be the time when a hero sweeps in or something miraculous happens which saves us. No such thing happened.

A second before we hit the barrier I shut my eyes tightly thinking of my dying words: this is gonna hurt.
