When Aaron kissed my cheek, I started blushing. I hope he didn't see. Even though it was just a kiss on the cheek, he's never done that before. I shouldn't be blushing. He's my best friend. It's kinda weird. I've never done that around him before, he's my best friend and it would be weird if I felt different about him... I guess I'm just stressing to much about it. 

I layed down under my covers and tried to stop thinking about it. After a few minutes, I fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning with Aaron on my mind. I don't really know why he effected me so much last night.

My mom had sat some clothes out on my bed next to me. It was easy to get my shirt on, but it was hard to change my pants.

After I finished I texted my mom.

"Can you come help me down the stairs?" After it was sent I just waited. She came upstairs and helped me stand up. I kept my hurt ankle up and hopped with the other one. It took me what felt like an hour, but I finally made it into my wheel chair.

I rolled myself into the kitchen and ate some cereal. Then I went to the bathroom and did light make up. I brushed my hair and then wheeled myself back to the living room.

I pulled myself out of the wheel chair and onto the couch. I turned on the tv and watched a movie.

"I'm going to run to the store." My mom said as she walked into the living room.

"Ok, will you pick me up an Arizona tea?" I asked.

"Yeah sure." She grabbed the keys and left.

I just went back to watching the movie. Then I heard a knock on the door.

"It's Aaron!" He yelled.

Oh gosh. I started blushing. I couldn't help it, my face just started getting hot when I heard his voice.

"Come in!" I yelled back.

Aaron had a key so he let himself in. He came over and sat next to me on the couch.

"Hey." He said.

"Hey." I smiled.

"You still doing okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." It was hard to look at him.

"Are you sure? What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing, I'm just..." I trailed off.

"It's about last night, isn't it?" He looked down. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that."

"No, don't be sorry. It's fine. But that's the problem."

"What do you mean?" He looked confused.

"I kinda... liked it. I mean, I shouldn't have cause you're my best friend and I shouldn't feel that way about you." I just realized what I had said.

"Well, why can't you feel that way?"

I looked up at him.

"Because... because we're best friends. And we've never thought about being anything else. I don't want to ruin our friendship."

"We're not going to ruin anything. Even if we ever were more than friends and it went wrong, I would never stop being your best friend." He said.

I smiled and looked down.

"Riley." He said.

I looked up at his pretty green eyes.

"Yeah?"

He leaned over and kissed me. But this time on the lips. And it was amazing. I never thought I could feel this way about Aaron. But I can, and now he was all I could think about. His soft lips on mine just felt perfect...

He slowly pulled away and looked me in the eyes.

"I'm sorry." He said.

"Don't be." Then I pulled him into another kiss. We kissed for a few seconds and then I heard my mom's car pull into the driveway.

I quickly pulled away.

"Crap." I whispered.

I grabbed a blanket and covered myself up to make it look like I had been laying down. Aaron just sat there smiling. I was blushing.

"Stop it!" I whispered.

"Ok fine." He said.

I unpaused the movie and just layed there.

I heard her key turning in the lock. She opened the door and smiled.

"Hey Aaron." She said.

"Hey." He smiled. Gosh that smile.

She handed me my Arizona tea and then walked in the kitchen to put groceries away.

"Don't say a word about it when she's around." I said.

"Ok. I won't."

We went back to watching tv and then my mom walked back in.

"So, when did you get here?"

"Oh, uh... about 20 minutes ago." He stuttered a little like he was nervous.

"Oh ok. Riley, how's your ankle feeling?" She asked switching her attention to me.

"Oh it's fine." I said smiling.

"What's with you guys? You're both acting really weird."

Me and Aaron looked at each other.

"Did you guys break something?" She asked.

"No mom, we're just tired." I said.

"Yeah, I didn't get much sleep." Aaron agreed.

"Alright..." she said suspiciously. "Anyways, I'm planning on us just having a lazy day today. Aaron, would you like to stay for dinner?"

"Sure. Thanks!" He said smiling.

Tonight will be awkward...
