Me and Aaron just sat and watched tv while my mom made dinner. It was very awkward... we were both very still and silent. It was weird.

"Dinner!" My mom yelled from the kitchen.

I started to pull myself off the couch and into my wheel chair, but I started to slip. Aaron grabbed my waist and helped me back into it.

He wheeled me up to the table and then he sat across from me. My mom started setting plates and utensils on the table.

We all sat down and started eating. She made Alfredo pasta and garlic bread. My favorite.

I was thankful that my mom was so talkative. That way it won't be awkward silence.

My mom told us this very long story about how she ran into my old english teacher at the store and what he said. I wasn't really listening. All I could think about was Aaron and the way he kissed me. It was weird, cause now every time I look up at him, I see him differently. Now I see him as the boy that I want to be with. The boy I've known all my life, but now I see him as a completely different person. He is still the same, it's just my feelings that make it all so unreal...

"Riley!" My mom said bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Huh? What?" I asked.

"I've said your name like three times. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry, I just have a lot on my mind." I sighed.

I looked up at Aaron who started blushing. Then I started blushing. We both just kinda looked down.

"Well, are you both done?" She asked.

We both shook our heads. She grabbed our plates and took them to the sink.

"Oh, good news Riley!" She said while washing the dishes.

"What?" I asked.

"The doctor called. He said you can switch to crutches!"

"Finally!" I said feeling relieved. I was so tired of sitting. I wanted to stand so bad.

"I'll go get them." She said.

The doctor gave them to us the day we went to the hospital. But my mom kept them in the trunk because she was afraid I would try to use them early.

She walked out the door and Aaron looked up at me.

"So, what were you thinking about?" He asked smiling.

"Nothing." I said.

"You were thinking about me, weren't you?" He smirked.

I just rolled my eyes and laughed. At least it didn't seem so awkward anymore.

My mom walked in with the crutches.

"Aaron, want to help me get her up?" She asked.

"Yeah, sure." He replied.

He walked over to help my mom. He slowly put on hand around my waist and grabbed my hand with the other.

The minute his hand touched my waist, it felt like he was touching every nerve in my body. It even made me take a chill.

I looked up into his eyes. We just stared at each other.
