Chapter 5: The Return

October 10th 2019

A month later, everything was going great. I still didnt go on a date with Sage yet but I wanted to take care of Zendaya and be a mother to her first. Sage would always come over for breakfast before he went to work and he would play with Zendaya for a while. If I was stressed and needed sleep, he would take care of her for me. After Sage left my apartment and went to work, Zendaya fell asleep so I put her in her crib and I went to sleep myself. I went to sleep for about 3 hours then I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door without looking through the peep hole because I figured it was just Sage coming over during his lunch break to check on me as he does everyday. I was still half asleep, I opened the door and looked up. I froze in shock and fear which isnt a good combination. It was ZEN!!!! He pushed me out the way and helped himself ingo my apartment. He had this evil smirk on his face. He came close to me and kissed my forehead and said " Did you miss me babe?" I didnt say anything, I just looked down at floor. I couldnt look him in the eyes. I'd never been that scared of somebody in my life. He placed his index finger under my chin and lifted my head and rubbed his thumb on my bottom lip. He leaned in and kissed me but I pushed away. He stepped back, turned and started checking out my apartment. What a nice place you got here, he says in a smooth tone. When he said that, it sent chills down my spine. He started walking to the bedroom. He tells me to come toward him but I walked as slow as possible. When I entered the room, he tells me to stand where he pointed his finger and thats what I did. He slowly started walking around me in a circle. He then says, You gained weight. Then all of a sudden he put a white towel over my mouth and nose then I blacked out. I woke up in a chair tied up in a dirty unfurnished bedroom. Zen walks in carrying Zendaya. He puts her down in her carseat and walks to me and takes the rag out of my mouth. I said quickly, Why are you doing this!?!? Zen pulls up a chair and sits in front of me. He says, "I just want answers, you know what... I'll ask questions." "Question number 1: Why did you leave me?" I was nervous, I had to get a hold of myself then I answered. You cheated on me! Beat me! I wanted to change. I wanted to stop doing drugs and stealing. "Question number 2: Who's baby is this?"  YOURS ZEN!! I Haven't been with with anyone else but you!!, I yell with anger. She looks just like you!! Zen then looks at Zendaya and realised that I was right. "Why didnt you tell me!", he said looking at Daya. I knew you weren't ready to be a dad and I felt like me and the baby would be in danger if we stayed. Now its time for me to ask the questions! Why did you kill Shawntay. Zen sat their and stared at me with an evil look. Why do you care?, Zen said with anger in his voice. Why wouldnt I care!, I say with tears in my eyes. She was my sister!  Zen then stood up and yelled, "She was in the way of us being together."  Their is no us! I yelled.  Zendaya started to cry. Zen picked her up and tried to rock her so she would stop crying but it didnt work. "Give her a bottle and put her in another room." He did as I said and came back. I tried to get free but that boy scout camp he went to tought him how to tie knots very good. When he came back, I asked if he could get my baby bag from my apartment because Zendaya will cry alot. So he left. I seen a window behind me maybe 10 inches back so I decided that I had to break the glass. I hopped in the chair backwards and counted to 3.  I hopped myself in the chair into the window which made it break. I had a piece of glass in my back.  I hurt so bad, I pulled it out of my back and started to cut on the rope with it. Five or six minutes later, I got my hands free and then I started trying to get my legs free. By the time I freed my legs, blood was pouring out my back. I took off my hoodie and tied it around the wound tight. I got Zendaya, wrapped her in a curtain, and made a baby holder that the African women put their babies in to carry on their back. I got a t-shirt and made a diaper out of it. Then I started to look for a weapon. The only thing I found was a box cutter. All the doors were locked so I climbed out the windowthat I broke. And I ran for hours, there was nothing but trees. When I was running I saw head lights. I ran to the car screaming for help. As the car came closer, I realised that it was Zen's car. I tried to run but he caught me. He tried to pull me to the car but I got the box cutter and cut his arm. He screamed in pain and punched me so  hard. He knocked me down to the ground. But Daya wasnt hurt cause I blocked her from getting hit. Then he pulled out a gun and told me to stand up or he would kill me. When I was getting up, I got the box cutter but Zen didnt see. He pushed me in front of him and put the gun to my head. I turned and stuck the box cutter in his side. The gun was fired but I moved out the way.  Zen was laying on the ground. I took the gun and pointed it at him. I was thinking about shooting him but I was just going to let him bleed out or let the animals eat him alive. As I started to walk to the car, Zen called my name so helplessly. I walked back to him and he said " Your going to leave me here to die?" I felt bad but at the same time I wanted to see him suffer. I thought you loved and cared about me? Zen said with a tear coming down his face. I looked at him and said I thought you did the same but I see you dont. I got to the ground, took off his shirt, and wrapped it around the wound. I decided to help him up. I put his arm around my shoulder. I helped him walk, and put him in the car. I drove us to the hospital. They had detectives there because Sage told them I went missing. I didnt know how long I was gone but I found out that I was gone for 3 days. The doctor gave me stitches in my back and took the stitches out of my stomach from my pregnancy. They gave Zendaya a check up but she was fine. I asked about Zen and they said he's fine. The detective asked me questions and I told them that Zen wasn't crazy. He just needed help. So they put Zen in a rehad center then when he was released, he was sent to a prison. When I got back home, Sage hugged me for a long time. I told him that I would be ready for our date soon. That Friday night, we went to a fancy restaurant and had a good time. We went to the carnival and he won me a lot of prizes. After months of dating, Sage asked me to be his girlfriend and we had first kiss together. Sage and I moved in together and I was finally happy with my life. I didn't have to work because Sage made alot of money. It was like my life went from hell to fairytale. I was happy. All that was left was to get married and have Sage's kids. Sage treated Zendaya as if she were his own daughter. When Zendaya was two years old, we moved to California so Sage could make more money with his new bigger and better company.
