Chapter 11, Scott:
The days after the meeting with my daughters were then spent with us three looking at paperwork and when I wasn't with them, they very rarely left their room. Days quickly turned into 2 weeks before the girls even noticed that any time had passed and the day came to where they had finally gotten all the information that they needed and were prepared to set off on an the most dangerous adventure any Angel has gone on.
"Girls, I want you to promise me that you will be safe and come home. The Angel Committee needs you two home safe," I say to them for about the hundredth time that day.
Megan and Chloe smile gently, "Of course we will," Megan responds easily. "We have Eeragon and Sapphire with us, along with everything we will need for a year and a half on our own. Also, we know what we are doing. I've planned and coordinated every training practice and Chloe has always coordinated practically everything business wise and anything else that doesn't involve my elite crew of trained fighters."
Chloe rolls her eyes. "We will be fine, father."
And with that, they stand on a takeoff platform after an assembly with the entire AC and we all waved as their wings unfolded behind them and they took off with Sapphire flying in between them while Eeragon was still in his dormant state on Chloe's arm.
"Ok everyone, time to prep for the normal routine! Let's get back to work!" I announce to the remaining members of the Angel Committee. As they disperse, Max, the Co-Leader of the Army Prep. usually lead by Megan, comes up to me.
"Sir, with the twins gone, will I be responsible for resuming Megan's position until they are to return?" He asks in his usual polite tone.
I consider the options before responding. "Well, Max, it does seem like it would be the proper thing to do to let you resume her responsibilities. But, as a father and leader, I would have to deny that request. I can take over her position."
He narrows his eyes slightly before nodding then turning and walking away.
Chapter 12, Chloe:
"Now what?" I ask Megan once we land on the edge of a cliff after flying for what seems hours.
"Well, we could eat lunch."
Sapphire nods her head happily and crawls off of Megan's shoulder where she sat down for a break from the miles and miles of flying we have accomplished.
I smile and bring out the storage of dehydrated food for us to all share. "Pasta sound good to everyone?"
"Yeah, sounds good to me. Sapphire can eat some of mine," she then looks over at Sapphire who smiles a baby dragon smile then settles next to Megan. She then pours the food into a container that was boiling water a few moments before. Megan then hands me my portion and we then eat while sitting on the cliff that overlooks a vast forest.
"Isn't that just beautiful Megan?" I ask after we had eaten and set up camp.
She looks at the forest slowly turning darker as the sun sets, "I sure prefer it when the sun is out though."
I nod in agreement and finish setting up camp for the night.

After flying for a few more days with a normal eating and sleeping routine, we finally come across an abandoned city in the clouds. It looks more like a ghost town, but once we get closer, we notice an insignia that I had to spend hours on researching to get the specific logo.
"Shadow Corps." I say quietly to no one in particular.
The sign appears on a tall building in the center of the city and looks like a black nothingness with an "SC" in the middle surrounded by a navy blue circle.
