NOTE: I have recasted Angie to Nina Agdal
The picture on the side is from a fan who emailed it to me! It's beautiful and thank you!
"Sky, are you okay?" Gabi asks, her eyebrows furrowed in concern
"Hell no I'm not!" I say stomping my foot down onto the car floor. Gabi's eyes flicker to my directions for a quick second before looking back at the road
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have taken you there." She says, guilt enveloping her features
"It's not your fault." I sigh banging my forehead onto the window next to me several times. I watch as we pull into Gabi's driveway "What are we doing now."
"Jake is having a party at his place." she says. my eyes widen in shock since I know Jake isn't super popular "Don't worry it's a small gathering." she laughs recognizing the surprised look on my face. "We're getting ready. Do you want me to stop by at your mom's house to get some clothes?"
"No thanks. Can I borrow some of yours?" I ask hopefully crossing my fingers
"Sure but only if you don't make fun of my dresses again." she laughs as I flashback to when I opened her closet -- walk in closet to be exact -- to borrow some pajamas and saw a whole rack of prada dresses and some dresses with their tags still on that read $2,000. I buy my dresses for $30 or cheaper
"No promises." I say and she pouts "What? It's not my fault that your closet costs enough money to feed an orphange!" she laughs
"Touché" Gabi smiles. this is what I like most about this girl. She is not touchy about the fact she has money but she doesn't boast about her wealth either. She simply accepts the fact that her family's house could be made of solid gold and they'd still have money left to pay their butler and maid and cleaning women and cook.
Once we are upstairs and walk into her ginormaous closet she guides me away from the racks of expensive things her mom probably bought her since there are tags still attached to them so that I can't make fun of them. She pulls a light grey and white dress with a neckline that reaches my collar bone and cap sleeves. It looks decent and pretty except for the fact its incredibly short and reaches an inch before the bottom of the butt.
"There is no way in hell I am wearing a dress that short." I say taking a step back, bumping in a shoe shelf and watch a pair of Jimmy Choo's fall from the shelf. I curse under my breath before picking the pair up and placing them back onto the shelf
"This isn't for you, it's for me." she laughs and I instantly feel stupid. "What do you want to wear?"
"Just some jeans." I shrug. she pulls out a pair of skinny light washed jeans
"you can look for a shirt in here." she gestures towards a giant cabinet and the deep end of the closet. I pull out a drawer and let my eyes scan my options. I finally decide on a plain long sleeved shirt. I put on my shirt and jeans and notice how the shirt fits perfectly. It gives shape to my curve-less body and makes me look a little bustier than I am in reality.
"Do you have a scarf by any chance?" I ask as Gabi tries on a pair of gold stilettos which dont go with her dress at all. Is this party fancy?
"Yeah, they're on your right." she says barely glancing at me. I look to my right and of course there are a bajillion scarves hanging from multiple racks in every color of the rainbow. I pick out a plain white scarf and wrap it around my neck loosely. I slip on my chestnut-colored uggs I wore here. I pull my hair into a messy top bun since I don't have the patience to tame it right now.
I compare how I look to how Gabi looks. she is all dressed up with dressy shoes and a fancy side bun with some sort of braid. It looks like she's going to a fancy party meanwhile I look like I'm taking a trip to starbucks.
I comb through my eyelashes with the mascara brush thingy and draw a perfect line with black eyeliner on my eyelid. When I try to do it on my other eye, the line seems thicker and I can't seem to get it right until the 11th try (no exageration). I smear cover-up over the ginormous red zit on the tip of my nose that had been bothering me all week and I'm ready.
"Are you sure it's just a small gathering?" I ask Gabi chewing on my lower lip nervously
"Yeah." she says screwing the mascara shut tightly "I'm ready. let's go"
Once the car pulls over into what I assume Jake's house's driveway Gabi smiles widely before touching up her lipgloss "Want some?" she offers. I think about saying no but then think it may make me look a little dressier than I am right now which should help.
"Sure." I say taking the lipgloss from her hands and using my finger to apply it on my lips. Gabi laughs
"You don't need to use your finger just use it normally." she looks at me in awe
"Oh sorry." I say nervously. I'm really anxious about this party since I feel like I'm going to be under dressed. "Angie never let me do that" I blurt out before I can stop myself
"Well Angie's a bitch, remember?" she smiles before getting out of the car, me tagging along behind her. She rings the doorbell and we are greeted by Jake. He is wearing a light blue button down shirt and a pair of jeans. He is in the middle between dressy and casual making me and Gabi look like we wore the right thing. Thank God
"Hey Sky!" she smiles at me waving his hand. he looks at Gabi and frowns "Gabi." he greets coldly. She returns his frown.
"Jake." she says venomnously. I shift uncomfortably. They burst out laughing which shocks me as Jake leads us inside his house
"What just happened there?" I hiss at Gabi kind of annoyed that I don't kno what's going on
"Musical Theatre inside joke." she explains "You should join." Before I can respond, my eyes settle onto a terrible yet ravishing sight.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?" I yell
