Early Saturday morning Dean got a call. Early. Very Early. Too Early for Dean to be awake. He startled awake, then proceeded to steel his arm from where Castiel was holding him, and reach it over to grab his phone. He glared at the contact name on the screen before presses 'accept' and hissing with as much venom as his sleep filled voice could muster, "what?!"
"Hey Dean!" a way too perky voice responded.
"What do you want Charles?" Dean sighed, flopping onto the pillows of his bed.
"Well, I got a call from your favourite brother and-"
"He's my only brother." Dean deadpanned, interrupting her.
"Okay Dean," Charlie said and Dean could almost feel the eye roll in her voice, "But if you'd let me go on with the story you'd know that Sam called and told me he was in town last night."
"Yeah, he's been here for a few weeks. He helped me out a little bit a couple nights ago." Dean said, fondly looking down at Cas.
"He told me something about that. So when do I get to meet him?"
"Meet who? You already know Sam."
"No! Him. Your mystery lover." Charlie cooed.
"You're hilarious Charles." Dean chuckled into the phone.
"There's nothing funny about wanting to meet your boyfriend Dean. I'm your best friend, I gotta make sure he's the one for you." Charlie said seriously.
"Oh fuck you were being serious." Dean said in surprise. He quickly hushed his voice down and carded a hand through Cas' hair when the man next to him stirred at the sound of his voice.
"Of course I was being serious!" The girl on the phone exclaimed so loudly Dean had to hold the phone away form his ear," You think I'm just going to let my friend date a guy I haven't had time to interrogate yet?!"
"Oh my god Charlie," Dean sighed, "You need to stop yelling so early in the morning. Speaking of which, why did you decide to call me at-" He glanced at his watch- "4:13am?"
"I woke up because I was hungry."
"And you just had to call me?"
"Yeah."
"Oh." They sat in silence for a moment before Charlie continued talking again.
"What's his name again?" She said excitedly.
"Castiel. Cas."
"Well I wanna meet him." Charlie huffed through the phone.
"So you've said."
"So...tomorrow?" Charlie asked, not waiting for a response before she continued, "We'll meet at the garage at 11:30. I get off my shift and then we can go to lunch."
"I'll see if he has any plans." Dean stated half-heartedly, already knowing he wouldn't be able to escape the crazy redhead.
"I'll see you then Dean. Toodles!" Charlie cried through the phone and hung up before Dean had a chance to say his farewells.
