Chapter Seven:

"Movie night!" Elliot exclaimed as we walked into school, I swear. This boy was more girly than I was but he did have his manly moment.s Ask Emma and I'm pretty sure she'll tell you that it's true.

I glanced at him from the corner of my eye, shaking my head as he bounced up and down in anticipation. I rolled my eyes and let out a light giggle as I saw Emma looking at him in adoration, she was a fine example of even when your crush did something stupid, you obviously still found it cute.

"You in?" Emma asked as we walked into English. Now it was my turn to start bouncing up and down into anticipation, Ace was coming today.

It took about a week for all the bruises to fade and to repair his pretty face. I had spent about three days with him the whole week and we had gotten pretty close in those three days. I wouldn't say that we were the best of friends but we were now definitely closer than we used to be and each and every day I started liking him a little more. The lust never faded, I don't think it ever will, he was just too handsome for words. And too handsome for me to ever think otherwise.

"Yeah, how about tonight?" They both nodded their approval and we took our seats. Mrs Furgeson walked in and stood infront of her desk, just as she opened her mouth to talk, Ace walked in.

"Sorry, I was caught up." He smiled a dashing smile which I knew had mine, Mrs Fergeson's and the rest of the girls hearts beating at a much faster face. She nodded in a daze and nodded towards his seat. He strutted towards his table and plopped down into it, he leaned back into his chair.

What's up with the all of a sudden, 'I don't care attitude', I think you're ego has gotten to you. I wrote quickly on a piece of paper as Mrs Furgeson  went to the staff office to go and get worksheets. I passed the paper to him and watched as he read it with a smirk.

I'm not sure, I felt the need for a change. I read and frowned, I could tell I wasn't going to like this side of Ace. He watched me as I read the letter and snatched it back before I could write back.

I'm kidding with you babe, I just wanted to see how you would drool over my bad boy side ;)

I glared at him and he just winked.

This isn't funny, I had really thought you changed!

He looked at me and smiled, he leaned closer to me and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I gaped at him and blushed.

"Why did you just do that?" I whispered. He chuckled and said,"Am I not allowed to show affection to one of my best friends?"

My heart panged at the word best friend, is that all he thought of me? No. If he did, then he wouldn't have kissed me that day and looked so upset when I had told him we should take it slow. I really needed to stop putting myself down.

I nodded in response to his answer and turned to Emma and Elliot, to only see that they were sitting close together with Emma giggling her head off while Elliot was whispering something in her ear. I smiled at them and turned my head, not wanting to intrude on their intimate moment.

Mrs Furgeson come back into the class room and started handing out the sheets of English work that we would be doing today.

My phone started ringing once the bell for lunch had went, the called I.D 'Mom' was flashing. I took a deep breath and answered it.

"Hello, mother." I greeted icily.

"Skye, my plane will be landing at seven tonight, make sure that you're at home when I arrive." She stated firmly and hung up. Great, mother dearest is coming home, I thought with a eye roll.

I sat down at our table and I finalised my plans with Emma and Elliot, telling them that we would have to do it tomorrow night. I explained to them that my mother would be coming home and they each gave me an encouraging smile.

Ace walked into the cafeteria with his bag slung casually on his shoulder, he saw me and smiled. I smiled back and watched as he walked over to our table.

"Hello ladies." He said in a smooth voice, he slung his arms around mine and Emma's shoulders. Emma sat their blushing, I just rolled my eyes and Elliot sat opposite us, glaring at Ace's arm. I smirked and directed my gaze to his and when he caught it, he looked down and blushed.

"Hi Ace." I smiled and looked up, to already see him smiling down at me. I looked down ad blushed and it was Elliot's turn to smirk at me.

One of Aces friends had called him so he squeezed my shoulder and took off in the direction where all his buddies were hanging out at.

"Someone has got a crush!" Elliot said in a sing song.

"Shut up!" I hissed at him, he chuckled and carried on eating his food. Emma looked at me and winked at me, startling me. She never winks.

I raised my eyebrows in question.

"Elliots bringing out the best in me." She smirked.

"Okay!" I said, horrified,"I think I should be going now." I stated and picked up my backpack. Emma smiled and Elliot threw me a thankful look, I winked at him and started making my way to the ladies room.

Inside the bathroom, I stared at the girl in the mirror.  Blue eyes stared back and long blonde hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail, her eyes were shining, as if they had found a new light. Lips that looked dry so a tongue darted out and licked them, the girl smiled as a certain boy with a name beginning with a 'A' entered her mind.

The bell ringing broke me out of my daze and I sighed frustrated, I didn't get to pee.

"Skye?" My mother's voice rang out, I sighed and slowly but surely made my way downstairs. There stood my mother, her hair tied up in a 'no nonsense' bun and her eyes were tired.

"Mother." I greeted. She nodded her greeting.

"Can I go now?" I asked while picking up her bags and carrying them upstairs to her bedroom.

"No." She told me and told me to sit down. I sat down on her bed and she sat next to me, it was awkward.

"How has school been?" She asked, trying to start a conversation. Should I tell her about Wyatt? No, I really shouldn't, she'll make me go and apologize to him and make me beg for his forgiveness.

"Great." I replied shortly. She nodded her head and said that I should go and do my homework, I got up and walked to my room. Screw doing homework I thought with a shrug.

Why? Oh why, did she have to come home today?
