It's been long, I'm sorry. I don't have a good excuse so I'm not gonna make up some crap. Life & school has been rough, I hope this makes up for waiting so long.

Chapter Twelve:
‘Come take a walk with me?’ Ace asked quietly, gripping my hand tightly. He had followed me home from school, looking pretty damn pissed off this morning when he saw Wyatt drop me off. I sighed deeply at his heartbroken expression, I have seen Ace pissed but I’ve never seen him so sad. My heart ached to see him so sad but I knew that if Ace didn’t have faith in me there would never be an us, if he even wanted there to be an us. He had made it clear two days ago when he left my in the pouring rain that he wanted nothing to do with me, if he didn’t want to try why should I?
‘I don’t think I should,’ I murmured, slipping my hand out of his. I walked up my porch steps but was caught by the wrist. Ace looked up at me with a determined expression, ‘It won’t take long, I promise.’
I shook my head as the tears started gathering in the corners of my eyes, ‘It doesn’t matter,’ I whispered, swallowing the ball in my throat, ‘The damage has already been done.’
Ace groaned deeply in the back of his throat. He grabbed my shoulders gently and shook me hard enough just to make my teeth rattle, ‘What do you want me to say? What do you want me to do?’ He demanded, his huge palm was resting against the base of my neck, right above my pulse. He traced his thumb over it, looking into my eyes.
I shook my head, ‘There’s nothing you can do or say.’ Ace stared at me for a handful of seconds before he sighed and hanged his head. I stepped out of his grasp and turned around, I hadn’t even taken three steps before I heard him whisper words that nearly had me breaking down.
‘Please don’t leave me,’ His voice was deflated, I stopped breathing at the sound of his broken tone, I couldn’t hear my heartbeat. I angled my body towards him.
‘What?’ I breathed, my voice shaky from the emotions running across his dark eyes. Ace stared at me for a handful of seconds before he shook he his dejectedly.
‘You heard me.’ Ace mumbled, looking up at the sky, a sad smile crossed his face when thunder rolled across the sky. Oh, Ace.
I reached for him slowly, my fingers curled around his forearm and I slid them down until they laced with his fingers. His hand was unusually cold, not their usual warmth.
‘Ace, what happened to you?’ I asked him softly.
‘You’re not ready to find out yet,’ He answered me honestly, he held my hand tightly. He closed his eyes and pulled me to him.
‘I have issues Skye, issues that aren’t going to be solved by tomorrow, I’m screwed up and I don’t want to ruin you too.’ He explained sadly. I shook my head against his chest, I wrapped my arms around his neck and pushed my lips against his. He didn’t move his lips against mine, he stood immobile for the first few seconds of the kiss before he gave in with a groan that sent my heart flying.
‘Don’t say that Ace,’ I breathed onto his lips, pulling slightly away from his intoxicating smell, ‘I won’t leave you, ever.’ I promised him, I sealed the deal with a kiss that had my toes curling in my shoes. The heavens let out a loud rumbling before they opened and raindrops fell.
Our lips slid over each making me giggle, Ace pulled away and smiled brightly at me. All the sadness from earlier completely gone from his face. Ace winked at me as he picked me up into his arms, I laughed and hid my face in his neck, giggling all the way. He unlocked the door with the keys that I had left in the keyhole, using only one hand. I nearly swooned at the strength this beautiful human had.
Once inside he threw me onto the couch, telling me that we were going to watch a movie. The entire afternoon it was only the two of us yet somehow, it felt like there was someone watching us.

‘It was so romantic Emma, you wouldn’t even believe me!’ I spilled every detail to my best friend over the phone, I had called her the very minute Ace walked out the door. My Mom wasn’t home yet so I decided I would make dinner later on, boy talk first.
‘Really?’ She replied, I frowned at her lack of interest but brushed it off as her being tired. I launched into the story of how he had followed me home, the conversation we had and even the kiss we shared. When Emma didn’t go all fan girl on me I started to worry.
‘Emma, what’s wrong?’ I asked her sadly, it hurt to hear my best friend be so down. There was a pause on the other side of the line before a heart-wrenching sob echoed in my ear. Emma mumbled a few words but I couldn’t hear one thing.
‘Emma, slow down!’ I demanded when she took a deep breath in.
‘I said I think Elliot is cheating on me!’ She shouted, I couldn’t believe my ears, why would Emma believe some stupid thing like that? I’ve known Elliot longer than I’ve known Emma and I knew for a fact that Elliot would never do that to a girl he likes. Maybe even loves.
‘Emma honey, he would never do that to you, you should know that.’ I tried to reassure her. After spending half an hour trying to calm Emma down she finally said she was going to sleep. Falling back on my bed with a sigh, I had a raging headache pounding against my skull and I was starting to feel sleep deprived
My phone buzzed beside me and I let out a sleepy groan, reaching blindly for it on my bedside table I answered it, put it on loud speaker and laid it back down on the table. Loud music came from my phone, I picked up the phone and checked the caller I.D my eyebrows furrowed in confusion when I read Wyatt’s name.
I brought the phone up to my ear and muttered a low hello hoping that Wyatt would hear me over the loud bass pounding through the nearby speakers, I mean, you phone someone yet you stand close to speakers, dumb noob.
‘Skye you need to come quick!’ I heard Wyatt slur, it sounded like someone had shouted for the music to be switched off. Why would he be calling me at midnight on a Wednesday night? Probably needs me to be picked up from a party because he was too wasted to know if he was a girl or boy.
‘What do you want?’ I asked him, starting to get irritated when he didn’t answer me, I was about to cut the call when he spoke again. He mumbled a few words that consisted of a house address and a wicked party with lots of alcohol and then he whispered something about wanting to throw up.
‘Wait Wyatt before you go! Why do I need to go there?’ I asked him hastily, I got up and walked to my closet, I searched for a pair of sweat pants and pulled them over my bum shorts and struggled to pull the hoddie over my head while keeping the phone to my ear. I nearly missed what he had said, and I almost wish I did.
‘It’s Elliot, he’s drunk.’
I'm not really happy with it but I needed to get a new chapter out there. Please tell me what you guys think :)
