AHHH THIS IS THE FIRST TIME DOING A FEMALE X READER
ARE YOU EXCITED
BECAUSE IM NOT
It might be trash, so I apologize in advance
Pleasseeee enjoy!
(Also, planning on doing Mercer x Reader soon, if y'all will like that)
Also: (y/l/n) means "your last name"

"Are you ready?" Serana's sweet voice filled your ears, the musty scent of dust and mold lingering around the two of you. You stand next to her, a bowl next to the both of you.

"It's only for a little while, right?" You ask, a bit scared of only having half a soul to enter the Soul Cairn. You refused to become a vampire, sticking to your Dawnguard ways.

"Right," she nods, placing the ingredients in a bowl. "It might... hurt, maybe. It's only temporary."

You nod, letting her do her thing. Soon, pain filled your entire body, and you had a... hollow feeling to you. You open your eyes, seeing Serana's perfect, porcelain face in front of yours, her amber eyes locked into your gaze. "Are you alright?" She asks.

You nod, though felt a bit light headed as she grabbed onto you, preventing you from falling.

"You're going to feel weak in there," she warns, as the portal opens up on the floor, a stair case following down into it.

"I know," you nod. "But I'm ready."

She nods, leading you down the stair case, the two of you entering the Soul Cairn together.

As you walk down the spiral, stone stairs, you hear Serana give a small sigh. You look at her, an eyebrow raised as if to ask what was wrong.

"I haven't faced my mother in a while," she admits, "but I'm glad I'm doing it with you."

A light blush warms your cheeks, and you offer her a smile. "Of course."

-time skip-

Harkon was dead. You killed him. You and Serana had found out the devastating news that Harkon was the bad guy. Serana's mother remains in the Soul Cairn, and you standd over Harkon's dead body. You hear the large doors open, and look over to see Serana run to you. Immediately, her arms are around your neck as she hugs you, her face buried in your shoulder.
"Thank you," she breathes as your arms wrap around her petite body.

"Thank you," she says again, her grip getting tighter.

You remain silent, hugging her.
Soon, Durak arrives, and you convince him to allow Serana to stay at the Dawnguard castle, seeing she has no where else to stay.
Durak leaves, leaving you and Serana alone once more.

"Thank you so much, again," she lets go of you. "I don't know what I would've done without you. I-I just have... one small favor to ask. It's the last one, I promise."

"What is it?" You tilt your head a bit, though you weren't up for another adventure. You had just slain Harkon, you were exhausted.

"Can you help me cure my vampirism?"

The question shocks you, making you blink as you look at her, taken aback.

"Cure you?" You repeat.

"Yes," she nods, a sad look in her eyes.

"But... why?"

"I'd rather not tell you yet," she says a bit too quickly, though you nod.

"Yes, I will help, of course," you agree. "But we should rest first. We'll travel to Morthal tomorrow, I know of someone that can help."

A look of relief is shown on Serana's face as she smiles a bit. "Of course."

-the next day-

The Dawnguard base buzzes with your fellow Dawnguard soldiers, all being happy and ecstatic that the vampires were gone. Most of them, anyway. Even the huskies were allowed to run about, collecting food scraps from the Orcs that fling their food accidentally while telling their tales of their epic kills from the previous day.

You wake with Serana sitting in a chair by your bed, and you stir as she looks at you.
"I couldn't sleep much," she admits when you look at her. "I was worrying about... well, everything."

You nod, understanding what she meant. You stand, not caring if she was watching or not as you change into your Dawnguard armour. "Are you ready to go?" You ask when you're done.

She nods, standing.
You lead her down the stairs, past your partying soldiers, and out the door. You summon Arvak, whom you recieved from a spirit in the Soul Cairn, and she sits behind you as Arvak carries you to Morthal. It was a long ride, filled with bubbling bandits, wild wolves, and dangerous dragons, but you and Serana make it safely to Morthal. You hop off Arvak, leading Serana down the walk way to the right.

Knocking on your friend's door, Falion opens it and smiles when he sees you.
"(Y/n), it's good to see you again!" He exclaims, then smiles at Serana when he notices her. "And who's this?"

"A friend of mine," you answer, "we need your help, Falion. Do you think you could cure her vampirism?"

"Of course I can," he nods. "I even have an extra filled Black Soul gem. We can start right now."

Serana has a look of relief on her face as you watch her nod to Falion.

"Let's not waste any time," you nod, moving so Falion can walk through the door, motioning you and Serana to follow. He leads you through the woods, to a shrine, and asks you to step back as Serana stands in the middle.

"Are you ready?" Falion asks Serana, and with a quick glance to you, she nods.

With her approval, Falion starts the ceremony.

You don't listen to the words, your gaze focused on Serana aa she closes her eyes. A single tear rolls down her cheek, making your heart ache.

Is this really what she wanted? Did she really want to be cured? Why?

Serana's face twisted with pain as Falion spoke the ceremonial words, and it takes everything in you to not rush to Serana's side to aid her.

Before the two of you know it, it's over. Serana drops to her knees, her vision blackened and blurry. You rush to her side when Falion nods to you, and you help your friend up.

Serana looks up at you, and looking at her, a breath catches in your throat. Her eyes, they're... blue. No longer amber.

"Well... we did it," she breathes, a smile curving on her lips.

You return the smile, nodding, as she lets out a small laugh. She seemed... happier.

"Why did you want to cure yourself?" You ask, noticing that Falion had walked off.

"I... uh.." she rubs the back of her neck nervously. "I've always been attracted to you, Dragonborn," she doesn't use your name. "And... one with a soul of a dragon can't be with a vampire, right? A vampire hunter can't be with a vampire. It just doesn't fit. I wanted to be... me. I wanted to be able to grow old with you, not watch you grow as I stayed my age. I don't want to sleep in a coffin while you sleep in a bed, I want to sleep in a bed with you. I want you. I did this for you."
When she's done talking, her pale cheeks light up with a pink blush, her blue gaze on yours.

You, you just.. you couldn't believe how she opened up to you. She's always been one to keep to herself, and now, she just poured her heart out to you

"Oh, Divines, if you say no," she takes a step back, a worried look on her face, "I'm not good with words, I know this is... weird, maybe. I-I... it's okay if you say n-no, but-"

"Serana," you cut her off, filling the gap between the two of you as you step closer, "I can't say no. I don't want to. I think Serana (y/l/n) has a ring to it, don't you think?"

Serana's worried look turns into relief, and a smile. "The same ring as a Nirnroot makes."
