It is I, Exodic: the so-called Dragon Kuriboh(nicknamed by Silver-chan), narrator and historian for those who don't remember me. Welcome back to another episode of "Once Upon a Spirit" by SilverStarDraco. Today we're starting at where we left off at the 5 year timeskip. Let's get started.

On the side note: You can start requesting for character and Pokemon information pages. Only 1 page every 2-3 chapters unless someone comments "I'm lost on how many Pokemon (character) has." It'll be quite easy to lose track of the number of Pokemon, due to the numbers.

Exodic's POV

5 year old Silver and her 7 year older brother Laiko were walking through the forest with their Pokemon, Eevee nicknamed Eva and Riolu nicknamed Aura for Silver, Eevee nicknamed Eve and a Drilbur for Laiko. They were looking for berries to eat and a water to drink. Good news was that they found a tiny river to stop at. The bad news was that there were no ripe berries to eat(due to the droughts in the summer). They drank some water(terrible, but what'd you expect) and looked around for some shade. Being little was quite nice in that the area needed for them was small. Once they found some shade, they sat down and rested, the Pokemon looking like they wanted a nap.

Timeskip: a few hours later/sunset...

The little group woke up to the hooting of some Owl Pokemon(Hoothoot, Rowlet, etc.). They looked up at the sky and saw the sky had turned orange and pink. They looked around. An old man was watching them, leaning against a tree alongside a package. He walked over to the group. The Eevee twins growled a bit.

"Don't worry I'm only here to ask something." The siblings tilted their heads in wonder. The Eevee twins stopped growling. "Are you from the town over there?" He pointed to the area in front of them. The siblings shrugged. "You don't remember? How old are you?" The Eevee twins growled again. "Sorry for prying."

"It's fine. Just weird." Laiko said. "Why'd you ask?"

"I was wondering since you seemed to be heading that way." The man said.

"Oh. We're looking for berries." Silver replied.

"I see." The man said. "I have something for you." He gestured to the package. "I was wondering if could take it off my hands. Silver, Laiko."

The siblings looked at the package and stared at each other. "Did he just say their names without them telling him?" The package was about their height, wrapped in cloth, whatever it was was layered, and they could see some gaps in the package.

"Well, I need to be on my way." The old man said, walking the opposite direction. "Til we meet again." He waved and headed off on his way.

...

The siblings watched him leave and stared at the package. "Strange fellow." Laiko said. "Shall we?" Silver nodded. Laiko opened the package and saw it was a stack of about 3 containers. He took one down and opened it. Inside were 7 smaller containers that had 3 Pokeballs each. He took one out and sent the 3 Pokemon out.

A Bulbasaur, Charmander, and a Squirtle appeared. Silver and Laiko looked at them. Laiko was staring at the Charmander, Charmander stared back. Laiko continued staring at Charmander, Charmander sneezed a little flame. Laiko gave a little laugh and held his hand out to Charmander. Charmander put its paw in Laiko's and happily jumped in his arms. "Welcome to team Laiko, Charcoal the Charmander." Charcoal gave a happy cry.

Silver returned the Bulbasaur and Squirtle back to their Pokeballs and took out the next set. A Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and a Totodile appeared. Cyndaquil watched Silver and she looked back. She held out her hand and Cyndaquil put its paw in her hand. "Welcome to team Silver, Cinder the Cyndaquil." Cinder jumped in her arms and she looked over to her brother. Laiko was looking at the Chikorita. Silver decided to return Totodile to its Pokeball. She heard Chikorita's happy cry and saw that Chikorita had accepted Laiko as its new trainer.

Timeskip: after Pokemon have been chosen.

Laiko took down the next case. Inside were some bags and backpacks to cart things around. He took a brown backpack and Silver decided on the blue satchel-like sling bag. Laiko closed the case of bags and brought down the next one. Inside were staffs and rods of different kinds. The only thing that was the same was that they all had some sort of a jewel in their cores that was a dull gray. Laiko glanced over at Silver and she shrugged in reply. The same thoughts were going through their heads: "What are these? Why do we have these? How do we use them if we need to?"

To be continued...

Exodic's POV(for those that don't that want to scroll back to the top)

That's all for Episode 3. This chapter introduced a lot of details that readers may have questions. A Q&A session may be allowed if we get about 10 questions in the comments. Some may be answered along the way, so keep an eye out. Here will be some interesting notes about our characters.

1. There is no Pokedex, but the characters will know the names of any Pokemon they meet. (Not technologically advanced enough for the Pokedex...just enough for the Pokeballs...)

2. All characters are smart enough to speak and so forth. (any other concerns can be dealt with another time)

3. All characters will be allowed more than 6 Pokemon. (No transferring/whatever normal players do...not technologically advanced enough...)

That's all for now. See you next time in another episode of "Once Upon a Spirit"!
