Exodic's POV
The mountain peak was humid, but cold, making a weird weather combination. The team got off and Abby headed towards somewhere. They followed. Abby led them into a cave tunnel.
"Welcome traveler." A voice spoke from deep inside. "Litwick, lead them in." The Candle Pokemon hopped around using Flash. Silver and her Pokemon followed it. Litwick led them to a woman sitting alongside a Xatu and an Alakazam. Silver noticed that she was wearing a necklace with a purple gem embedded in it. "I'm Maggie. May I ask for your name?"
"My name's Silver." Silver replied. "What's that?" She asked, gesturing to the necklace.
"Ah. Of course. That's why you're here." Maggie said. Alakazam used Psychic on the case that Silver had brought and set it down on the table. Maggie opened the box. "I suppose that since you're here, you're looking for what these are." Silver nodded. Maggie gestured to a chair in the corner and Alakazam brought it over with Psychic. "Alright. I'll explain. But first a mini history lesson, so sit on down." Maggie began her story:
A long time ago, before Sayorden was even called Sayorden, the people and Pokémon got along very well. The Legendary Pokémon sometimes visited from where they lived.
One year, during a visit, Arceus appeared in front of the people.---
"Arceus?" Silver asked.
"The Mythical Pokémon of Origin. Supposedly the creator of all." Maggie replied. Silver nodded and Maggie continued.
---
Arceus appeared and decided to grant 1 joint wish to the land. The wish was that the people and Pokémon could use each other's powers to their full potential. That wish was granted by Arceus(with the power of Jirachi). Arceus gave them the power of the "Staff".
---
"The 'Staff'?" Silver looked confused.
Maggie nodded. "The weapons used today along with the Pokemon."
---
However, the power of the "Staff" was overused and being abused. The Legendary Pokémon stopped visiting and now the only proof that they exist is in the legends passed down. During that time, some Seer were predicting a devastating future. A future where the power of the "Staff" would destroy the land and leave it barren of people and Pokémon.
---
"Just like right now?" Silver asked.
"Exactly as now." Maggie replied. "My ancestors and I use the power of Xatu to predict the future with the help of the past."
"So they predicted this future?" Silver wondered.
"Most of it." Maggie replied. "The choices and actions the people of the past took led us to this future. Xatu can predict multiple outcomes of the future based on our choices."
"So is it possible to lead this future on a different path?"
"Based on the fact that our meeting is based on fate, then I say that the future can be changed." Maggie replied.
"Were there some who used the power right?" Silver asked.
"I believe so." Maggie replied. "However, because there were some that still used the power for the wrong purpose, the Legendaries decided that the people weren't worth their power and hid away."
...
"I see." Silver mumbled. "I almost forgot. What's with the gem?"
"Oh right. That's what you're here to learn about." Maggie said. She pointed to the case. "The stone is to show worthiness and the level of the 'Staff'. The 'Staff' comes in many forms. When there is no owner, the gem is stone-like. When the 'Staff' accepts an owner, it glows, but stays gray, because it hasn't been used. There are many stages of worthiness."
