My Sweet Pirate

Chapter 1

"June, good morning." I said walking out of my room. She was holding a cup of tea that she handed to me. "Thank you."

"You are welcome, Princess Avelina." She said smiling as I smiled back.

"I told you to just call me Aveline. No need for formalities. Let's go out into town. It gets boring here." I said starting to walk down the stairs. We got onto horses and went into town. My horse is white and hers is a chestnut brown. The town was happy and cheerful. I got off my horse at the pier and started walking around. Looking at the fish being sold. That's when someone started running down the pier screaming pirates. I turned telling people to evacuate and in the process was caught. "Let me go!"

They brought me to one of their ships and tied me to a poll. I sat on the ground glaring as one grabbed my crown. "This be the princess. Captain, we caught the princess of this here kingdom." He yelled as their apparent captain walked out, and looked at me. There was also a girl following him.

"Well, brother, if she is going to stay here, we should put her to work." The girl said as he nodded.

"My name is Aldrich Carlyle but they call me, 'Devil's Charm'. This is my sister Ember Carlyle, she's called 'The Boar'." Devil's Charm said as I nodded with a sarcastic look.

"Uh huh, my name is Avelina, they call me 'The Princess'." I said rolling my eyes. He laughed at my joke, but his sister looked thoroughly unimpressed. 

"Get her into something she can work in sis." Aldrich said as his sister nodded. She took me to her room and put me in a more work friendly outfit. When I came back out, all the boys just started at me. I scoffed.

That night they had me sleep in the storage room. I didn't even get a blanket, but oh well. We must have been sailing through a storm because the boat kept rocking, and there was a lot of thunder. I hated thunder and started shaking a bit.

I didn't get any sleep that night, and early in the morning they put me to work. I was mopping the deck, but I started falling asleep. "Wake up sleeping beauty." Aldrich said laughing. I looked at him, sleepy. "Get back to work, I don't want to have to hurt you."

"And I don't want to punch you in the face with this mop." I said as he laughed again. "You think I'm funny?"

"No, your sarcasm is though." He said as I continued mopping.

"Oh haha, very funny." I said as he stopped my mop. I looked back up at him as he examined my face. "What?"

"Did you get any sleep last night?" He asked genuinely worried. I rolled my eyes not caring as I continued to mop.

"What do you care? You kidnapped me." I said as he sighed and walked away. I honestly don't think he was worried. When I was done cleaning they threw a bowl of slop at me.

"Here you go, eat up." The chef said leaving the storage room. I put the bowl on the ground and laid down.  After a nap my stomach started growling, so I ate the slop, but it didn't taste bad. When I was done I sat by the window, looking out at the sea. There were dolphins jumping out of the water and I smiled.

I hope my kingdom is okay. My parents are probably freaking, and so is June. I need to find a way off this boat, but now is probably a bad time. I'll wait a few days for them to start trusting me enough to let me take off with one of the smaller boats.
