Chapter 8

I got lost in the town and started wandering around. "Excuse me, sir, do you know where the dock is?" I asked a man passing by. He turned and looked at me a moment before smirking.

"Why yes I do ma'am. It's that way. But, a pretty lady like you shouldn't be out and about alone. Something might happen to you." He said worriedly.

"I can take  care of myself." I said starting to walk off. He followed behind.

"You are in the bad part of town, I shall walk with you to the dock." He said as I sighed, not caring enough to deal with him. It was dark, and I still wasn't at the dock. Stopping, I turned and looked at the man.

"Where is the dock?" I asked as he sighed. He pointed to past the house in front of us. I ran off in that direction and sure enough the dock was there. Wow, I got swept away farther than I thought. Aldrich was pacing on the dock, his sister next to him.

"What if she's hurt? Or lost?" He asked as she sighed.

"I'm sure she's fine, Aldrich. We don't have any enemies here. Yet." She said as he stopped. running onto the dock, I jumped to him, wrapping my arms around him. His face lit up happily and he hugged back. "See? Fine."

"Good, now let's go." Aldrich said walking onto his ship. The guy that led me here wasn't far behind me.

"Thank you." I said before running onto the ship. Aldrich and I went to his room and laid down, he got on top of me.  "I love you."

"I love you too." He said moving some of my hair. I giggled an he smiled. "You are such a little kid, but somehow you having me loving it."

"Do I really?" I asked putting my arms around him.

"Yes, and I promise to always protect that happiness, Princess." He said before placing his lips against mine. when he pulled away, he laid next to me, pulling me in. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Aldrich." I responded before drifting into sleep. When I woke up,  Aldrich was tied to a chair. "Aldrich..?"

I sat up, but he didn't respond to my call. I got out of the bed and ran over to him. He's still breathing, at least he's alive. When I went to the window, I was shocked to see Ember standing next to another girl. The entire crew was knocked out. The girl looked over at me. "She's awake." She said as Ember looked over, her eyes showed worry.

"I'll take care of her, you just finish getting everything onto our ship." She said walking towards my room. When she walked in, I backed far away. "Calm down Avelina, I won't hurt you."

"What are you doing?" I asked as she closed the door.

"Listen, Aldrich doesn't know I'm involved in this. Don't tell him please. I promise, I don't want to hurt anyone. This is to keep you both safe." She said as I tilted my head.

"What do you mean." I asked confused.

"She wanted to kill everyone." She said as my eyes opened wide. "Hey, don't be scared. She won't hurt you."

"Well, maybe I lied." She said as we looked at her. She was standing at the door way. "You didn't tell me she looked like that."

"You promised to leave her alone, Sarah." Ember said defensively. Sarah slapped her to the ground. "I thank you for the help, but I will be taking her."

Sarah picked me up and I tried to get away. After dragging me onto her ship, I backed away as much as I could. "Don't hurt me..." I begged as she smiled.

"Don't worry, I'll take this relationship slow." She said as I just sat there, but she grabbed my arm and put me in her room. Then she locked the door. I knocked on the door trying to get out, but I couldn't. Walking over to the corner, I sat, holding my necklace. When she came back in, she saw me holding the necklace. "What's that? A necklace, did Aldrich give it to you?"

Slowly I nodded and she ripped it off. I screamed falling to the ground. "Give it back!" I yelled as she laughed.

"No, you don't need it anymore." She said locking it in a small chest. Then she grabbed my hand, leading me to a table filled with food. "Now, eat breakfast with me."

I nodded and sat in the chair next to her, but didn't grab any food. She saw me looking down sadly. Grabbing a bit of food, she handed it to me. I grabbed it and ate slowly. "Thank you." I said as she lifted my chin.

"Don't be sad, or I'll be forced to hurt you." She said as I forced a smile. "Better, now that you've eat come over to my bed with me."

"Okay..." I said quietly, still pretending to be happy. She laid down then made me lay down in front of her. She wrapped her arm around me, smelling my hair. I started shaking.
