I do not own picture. Picture is of Ember.
Aldrich gave me his blanket and one of his pillows for me to use. "Thank you." I said as he stood. smiling. It's a cold night, and we are pulled into the harbor of a town. Looking out the window, I see the people quickly finishing their tasks before dark. He watched me for a minute before leaving.
I could hear him and his crew talking. "One more week until we reach their rival kingdom, Captain. They'll give us so much money." One of the crew members cheered.
"Yeah..." Aldrich said sadly. I heard him sigh and they all started drinking beer, laughing loudly. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I huddled up to a corner. This is not going to end well for me.
The next day Aldrich walked in, and I glared at him. "You're going to sell me." I said looking back out the window. "Good to know I'll be killed."
"I'm not actually going to sell you. Come, I need to go shopping." He said as I stood, following him off the ship. He held my hand to make sure I didn't get lost in the crowd. We arrived at a little shop that sells food that can last a while. When we were done shopping, we started walking around.
"You're really going to pass up the opportunity to sell me?" I asked as he nodded.
"Yeah. You're a nice girl, and you don't deserve the treatment they'll give you." He said as we stopped walking. I looked up at him, a slight blush on my face. "I'll handle everything, okay?"
"Okay..." I said as we continued walking. We went back to the ship, and he put the food in the storage room. He asked me kindly to clean a bit while he went back into town. I nodded and got the cleaning supplies.
The other crew members watched as I cleaned up the ship. Don't they have any work to do? When I finished one of the crew members walked up to me smirking. "So, Princess, how about me and you go into your room alone?" He asked playing with some of my hair.
"How about no?" I asked as he chuckled.
"Come on, Princess, don't be like that." He said lifting my chin. I'm okay with Aldrich calling me that, but he is just trying to flirt with me. I have a name, try using it people.
"Don't call me Princess, I have a name. It's Avelina." I said making him laugh a bit.
"Fine then, Avelina, what will it take to get you to undress?" He asked as I rolled my eyes and decided to play along a bit.
"A gentleman." I said as he smiled. "Have you seen one?"
"You're looking at one, Avelina. I can be a gentleman when I want to be." He said kissing my hand. He then dipped me in his arms making me laugh a bit. "Is this good enough yet?"
"I think your captain can do a better job of winning a girls heart." I said as he pulled me back to my feet.
"I'm not after your heart. I'm just after your body." He clearly admitted.
"That's not the proper way to treat a lady." I said while Aldrich walked back on the boat. He watched the crew member flirt with me while I quite obviously turned him down. The other crew members saw the angry look on Aldrich's face and moved back.
When the he finally turned to see Aldrich, he moved away from me. "Captain... I was just about to start cleaning." He said quickly grabbing supplies and starting to clean. Aldrich rolled his eyes angrily.
"You can keep cleaning till I tell you to stop." Aldrich said walking to his room. I followed after him.
"That was horrible." I said after the room door was closed.
