chapter 8

Clarke pov

I was walking in the woods when I felt I was being watched, as I pulled out my gun, Lincoln came out from behind a tree.

"I was about to shoot you, what are you doing out here" I asked him.

"I could ask you the same, shouldn't you be resting" he says and I get a little mad.

"God I'm sick and tired of being asked that, I'm tired of being in bed, I want to get out of bed and go walking by myself, with out Raven and Octavia breathing down my neck, I know they care but I need my space sometimes" I say and he nods.

"So what are you doing out here" I asked him.

"I was hunting when I herd something and it was you" he says and I nods. We start walking and we just talk until I ask him a question.

"Lincoln what if someone asked you to do something that might make you stronger and help protect your people and there people, but your people don't think it will work, then what do you do" I ask him?

"Well it all depends on how better it would be for you and your people and the other one's people, and if it is that important then make your people see that and some will see that and some won't but over time they will learn to live with it because it is what's best" he says and I nod.

After that it was dark so he walked me back home, I slipped through the gate hoping my mom, Raven, or Octavia didn't notice I was gone, but who was I kidding of course they noticed. When I got to medical there was my mom and Raven and like 20 guards. When my mom saw me she ran over to me and gave me a hug and so did Raven and then all the questions came in. Where were you? Are you OK? Did someone kidnap you? Who were you with? And after they stopped asking I answered.

"I was tired of being stuck in this room so I snuck out and went for a ride in the woods, then Lincoln found me and we talked, then he walked me back and yes I'm fine" I said and they nodded.

"Honey, I'm sorry we have been so hard on you I just don't want to see you hurt or in pain" my mom says.

"Yeah I just want to make sure your OK and I don't want to lose you, I almost did" Raven says and I can see the tears in her eyes. I lean in and hug her.

"I'm fine, you guys did good making sure I was not in pain or hurting, and you can't get rid of me that easily Reyes" I say and she smile and leans in and kisses me. After we talk my mom runs some test and says I can go back to my room. Thank God I finally get to get out of this medical room. Me and Raven go back to our room because tomorrow I become chancellor and I already know what my first action as chancellor will be.
