Lion's Den

It was my assumption
My naive consumption
Of the imagination
Of the possibility
Turning off this long lonely road

But I read you wrong
But with your inaction
I move on and I am strong
and for so long
I have been turned away
A child led astray

For this is my confliction
My disposition,
The choice I make
Or what life has chosen for me
In my dismal position
I showed my passion
I showed my compassion
But the noose does fasten

At last I take the road again
For the pavement has become my friend
And for now the road does not end
But hopefully one day
I fund strength to return to the lion's  den.
