[Michael]

The air in the room felt dense. It felt hard to breathe. My lips were still swollen from our previous actions. Calum's stare dug into me as he smirked from across the room. I could tell he was trying to suppress a laugh. I fixed my mop of blonde locks and adverted my eyes to the forgotten movie on the television.

"Someone say something, the tension in here is thicker than my dick," I say with an awkward laugh. I glance at Allie, her face flushes as her eyes travel to my belt. Calum chokes on air and clears his throat to speak. "Guys, me and Ella came over here for a reason, but clearly you didn't care about the world beyond each other's lips."

"Shut up, Cal!" Allie got defensive. That was cute as hell. Her head lays softly in the palms of her ivory hands as soft laughs slip through her fingers. I smile at this.

"What do you want, ya dick? I was having a good time."

"We can all tell, Mikey," Ella's small voice fills the room, we exchange a sound of awkward laughs.

Allie lifts her head out of her hands, confusion covering her face, "how'd you get in here anyway?" Her question was towards our intruders, but mostly Calum. We didn't know Ella was here until she called Allie out on her "bullshit."

"I have an emergency key, remember?" Of course Allie gave her best friend a key. Ella had seniority over me apparently, I don't have a damn key. Allie nodded.

She seemed okay with the interruption, meanwhile my dick was throbbing painfully in my tight jeans. It eventually calmed down and softened as Calum's unexpected visit drew on longer. As weird as it is, I didn't want to sleep with her right then. I only wanted a kiss. I know Allie's past and I would never dream of rushing her and pushing her out of her comfort zone. We will get there when she's ready.

"Anywaysss," Calum spoke up once again, "we came to talk to you Allie. This is serious."

Allie released a sigh, "alright, Cal, what is it?"

He and Ella exchanged sad looks. Calum cleared his throat, "I'm not sure how to start." He paused, we didn't press for him to continue, we knew he would, "Allie, there's rumours going around the school. We are completely aware that this is old news, and that no one even knew about it to spread. So, I'm not even sure how it started back up but-" He stopped again, locking eyes with us. The breath escaped from my lungs. I knew what he was talking about. Allie shifted in her seat, unease growing within her. She grabbed my hand softly, rubbing her thumb along the back of it.

"Babe, we heard this from Emily, ya know, that bitch? The drama queen, literally?" Ella picked up the conversation from where Calum left off, sensing his uneasiness with the topic. "Well, we ran into her outside of the gym, by the washrooms. Fuck, I don't know how she heard this, she said, 'Allison Lancaster is such a hoe, didn't you hear? She's sleeping with Mr. Grey so she can get better grades on her finals!' And then she skipped back into the gym to continue her volleyball match."

My jaw drops. No breath left in my lungs. I face Allie as the colour leaves her face, no expression on her face. Her grip on my hand tightened harshly. I could feel her shaking. She had to many emotions bottled up to decide on how to feel.

Ella stares at Allie with soft eyes. She can sense Allie's confliction. We all know she wants to cry, but she wants to be strong. She's at war with herself, as usual. Her heart is tearing itself apart.

I run my hand through her hair once and rub gentle circles on the small of her back. Her breathing slows. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Then, she stops. Her breathing quickens, then slows back down, never set at a constant speed. She breaks her hand away from mine and rests her head softly into her palms like she had only moments ago, when this was a carefree Saturday afternoon.

Calum watches Allie closely, worry plastered on his innocent face. He reaches to the ottoman and grabs the remote to the television and quickly switches it off. His attention remains on Allie. She needs the support right now. I appreciate Calum turning off the T.V. We don't need a distraction right now.

Allie remains still, head in hands, erratic breathing. I continue to rub her back. I'm so concerned for her. "Allie," my voice is soft, "are you okay?"

And at that moment, wretched sobs wracked through her small body. An infinite downpour of tears streaming down her porcelain face, creating a puddle of despair I'm her soft palms.

I rest me forehead gently on her shoulder, my hand continues its circular motions. Soft tears escape my eyes without notice. First one, followed by another. I let them slip out and fall down my face. I won't dare wipe them away. The tears slide down my face slowly, dropping down and forming a small puddle on my jeans.

A single tear fell slowly down Ella and Cal's faces as well. Ella looked down at her lap. No sounds came from us. The room was filled with Allie's sobs. The sound pained my chest. It struck me right in the heart. The sound echoed through my head. Her whole life was collapsing right before her eyes.

I swear to god, I will beat the shit out of the person spreading the rumour. What did this beautiful creature do to the world to deserve the shit she's been given in life?

"M-Mikey," her voice reached up out of the sobs.

I raised my head from her shoulder, my eyes wide, "what is it, my love?"

"Could you hold me? My heart hurts and my chest is aching. I think I'm going to have a p-panic attack." She faced me, her beautiful face was completely flushed in red, her sapphire eyes were bloodshot and surrounded by her puffy cheekbones.

Panic shot threw my system. I pulled her across my lap and enveloped her body in mine. I have to keep her safe. I played with her hair and held her right hand tightly. Her eyes flickered shut. Her breathing slowing down.

"Allie," Ella started, "I am so sorry. We shouldn't have told you. I-I-" Allie cut her off. She sat up slightly. She calmed down completely.

"Ella! Don't blame yourself! I appreciate you telling me" she paused, "can you imagine, how bad Monday would've been if you HADN'T told me what was happening? Ella, I love ya, but you have to tell me these things.  I need to be able to cope with this. I'll be alright. I'm going to fuck Emily up." She lowered herself back down and placed her hand on my chest, looking up at me with a smirk. Her face was coming back to colour.

"Hey Cal," I start, "did Emily mention anything about who told her, or who started it?" I narrowed my eyes. I'm gonna kill a bitch.

Calum hesitated before answering, trying to recall the earlier conversation. "I don't think so. I'm pretty sure we told you exactly what she said. As soon as she finished talking, and before we had a chance to speak or ask questions, she left. Sorry you guys."

Allie shrugged, "I'm sure I can get it out of Emily. I'll "persuade" the bitch into telling me what she heard from who." She was still laying across my lap.

Allie's face contorted into a menacing smirk. It was very intimidating. She looked at Ella. Both of them exchanged a certain look, and Ella winked.

Finally, Ella's chimed, "Road trip anyone?" We all hollered in unison, scrabbling to gather up our belongings and heading to my car. Off to the suburbs we go!
