Chapter 26

(Also set in an AU where Jesse never graduated so he could stay in VA.)

Kurt: WTF MAN, YOU DUMPED HER?!?

Finn: DON'T PUSH ME HUMMEL.

Kurt: what's up with you?

Finn: I'm just having a long day.

Kurt: do you want to talk abut it?

Finn: OMG no, why does everyone ask me that?!? If you wanna talk so bad go chat it up with your boyfriend.

Kurt: wow Finn, wow.

Quinn: hey, Rachel said you were having a tough time? Are you alright?

Will: hey are you alright? Everybody's worried about you?

Finn: well they don't have to be I'm fine.

Will: just show up to rehearsal today, we need you in glee.

Finn: actually you don't. I'm sorry mr. Shue I don't think I can do glee anymore.

Will: Finn?!? You can't just quit, we have nationals?!?

Finn: why don't you get Jesse, everybody else seems to think he's a better option than me.

Will: I don't think we're talking about glee anymore Finn. Do want to talk about something?

Finn: no mr. Shue, I'm fine. I just need to be alone for a while.

Wes: hey man, I herd your having a pretty bad time.

Finn: I SWEAR TO GOD WES LOOSE THIS NUMBER!!!!

Wes: fine, can you at least tell Kurt and Blaine that for Jeff's 18th we're going on the NYC gay bar pub crawl and that their invited.

Finn: nice try, you guys aren't over 21

Wes: never underestimate the combination of wealthy parents, brains and lacking supervision.

Finn was sitting in the corner of the cafeteria alone, the glee club all ate in the choir room and since he was no longer in glee he was left once again by himself. Everyone wanted to help him, everyone thought THEY were the person who could make it right, so infatuated with themselves that one they could truest help him. But they were all wrong, nobody could help him, he wasn't lost he had just stopped caring where he was. He slowly let his mind wander back to a couple days ago, the pain still fresh in his mind and his heart.

(Flashback👐)

Finn's footsteps echoed as he claimed the staircase in the Berry's empty house. Stopping at Rachel's door and opening it, having been instructed to retrieve her things and to pick up Kurt and Blaine's obscure coffee order, he was still slightly confused as to why the fact that Blaine could remember this obscure order was SO romantic in his stepbrothers mind. Finn opened the door and walked into the bedroom, it wasn't tidy, as was custom for Rachel but messy with clothing and other items thrown around the room and shattered pieces of Rachel's mirror lying amongst the jumble.
The sight was rather disturbing to Finn, not because he was in any position to judge a messy room, as Kurt would routinely point out. The fact that Rachel had been in such a state that she had done this however, that was scary. He slowly began to investigate the mess, being very careful as not to cut himself on the remains of the mirror. She seemed to have ripped various items and thrown them in this pile, most of them were fairly ordinary, schoolwork she had done poorly on, sheet music for solos she hadn't gotten, pictures of them loosing at regionals their first year and of them in New York. However, as Finn continued to debunk his girlfriends wish to take her own life he began to discover more. There were pictures of herself that looked as though they had been scribbled on and ripped, things such as "loser" or "slut" written on them. He continued to sift through the ikr until he found Rachel's laptop which thankfully was not broken. Finn propped it up on his lap and typed in Rachel's password, what he saw next shook him to his very bones.

Hey Jesse,
I know your probably surprised to see this, I mean why shouldn't you be. I never called you back or replied to those letters or edible arrangements. These last few weeks have been terrible, I feel like I'm loosing Finn but the trouble is it doesn't even bother me. It doesn't bother me because I'm still in love with you. I understand why you did what you did, we were terrible to you and I'm sorry about that, I triple cast you with two other guys and I think there's still a chance for us!!!! I once told someone "your right maybe Jesse and I aren't true love but what if we are?!?" Jess I think we might be and I don't know what's going to happen with Finn but I've thought about it a lot and I want us to have one more chance."
