Chapter 4

Evan P.O.V

When I returned to the house from my trip to the town, it was already sun down and Adam was still asleep in my room, even after the 15 times I checked up on him. I was annoyed since I wanted to sleep in my own bed and his girlfriend Meghan keeps blasting my phone every 5 seconds wanting to talk to Adam.

"Mornin.." I heard Adam say. I quickly turned around and saw him rubbing his tired eyes. He was still wearing his plain white tee and sweats. At that moment I just wanted to jump on him and make him do things to me.. "Whose that?" he questioned pointing at my ringing phone. I looked at it and panicked a little. "Uhh nobody probably mom." I said nervously rubbing my shoulder. "Aren't you gonna answer?" he looked at me suspiciously. "Nah I'll just give her a text... Are you hungry?" I said quickly changing the subject so he'll drop it. "Yeah" he simply said turning around entering the bathroom. The phone rang again.

"Seriously Meghan I'm this close to blocking your sorry ass!" I said harshly but quietly so Adam wouldn't hear.

"Umm... my name is Karen and I was told by our teacher to call you and tell you the assignment for today." I heard the voice say and I was completely embarrassed.

"I-I'm so sorry Karen..." I said like the stuttering mess I was.

"Well the assignment is..." She went into detail, but then I got distracted because Adam suddenly entered the room again. 

"You coming or what?" Adam said raising his keys, not dressed in his sleepwear anymore. I didn't know where we were going, but I got excited. "Okay got it! Thanks Karla!" I said. "It's Karen-" I heard her say then I swiftly hung up.

We were walking down the streets of the little town I was at earlier, but now it was dark and lit up by various lights. It looked very dreamy... and romantic. Adam was walking slightly faster than me and saw him looking off into the distance. I could tell there was something on his mind but just what?

"Adam do you even know where we're going?" I asked. "Yeah I've been here plenty of times." He looked back and smiled. Weird to think he remembers every corner of this town but not what went down during the crash.

He opened the door for me, and we entered some kind of old diner. 

He ordered a burger, I ordered a shake. "You're not gonna eat anything?" he asked concerned. "I ate before you woke up idiot." I said laughing. "Sorry... should've taken you out earlier." he said looking down at his hands. Adam was such a sweet guy, if only Meghan didn't have him in her clutches. "Is that cut gonna be okay?" I said gesturing to the bright red slash on his lips. "Oh this" he said touching it with his finger. "C'mon Evan you know I'm way tougher than that." he said wriggling his eyebrows and I blushed. Just as I was about to answer back my shake came. I popped in a straw and drank the sweet drink. For some reason the waitress left two straws in the one shake... But she then quickly brought Adam's burger and to say it was huge was an understatement.

Adam wasted no time digging into his food. He kept insisting for me to take a bite but I kept refusing, stealing some of his fries. I offered him some sips of my shake too but he also refused. "I'm telling you I'm on a strict diet." he said seriously. I raised my eyebrow "Oh but you can stuff your face with that enormous burger." I said laughing stealing another fry. "It has lots off uhh... proteins and stuff like that." he said taking another bite of his burger. "Plus you know I gotta keep my body in shape in order to protect you... er I mean your father." I tried to hide my red face noticing the mistake he had made, I laughed quietly and reached to grab another one of his fries but I met with his hand instead. We quickly glanced up at each other with wide eyes and he quickly pulled his hand away, and so did I. "Out of fries already?" I fake chuckled trying to avoid what just had happen. His hand was so warm and rough, made me feel safe, made me want to keep my hand their forever. If only.
