Ayla's pov

One year later...

"Okay class, that's it for today. Remember that you're assignment is due on Monday. Have a great weekend", Professor Willard said.

I packed up my stuff and left my final class for the day. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with my life right now. A year ago, I would've never guessed that I could be so happy.

My brother Tyrell is not drinking, smoking nor hanging out with gangs anymore. Mom got him into UCLA and he's on the basketball team there and he's studying to be an entrepreneur. He's a sophomore there. He has become a really great brother to me. He's always there when I need him. And even though he has a girlfriend and he has basketball, he always finds time to spend with his little sis.

Becca is working at Mom's company as the Assistant of her Managing Director. She is still my best friend and the most jovial person in my life. She still continues to make me smile even when I don't want to. She is also the girlfriend of the Media Consultant Keagan Smalls at Mom's company.

Tiana, Adrian, Adrian's friends and I are also going to UCLA. We're freshman's there. Tiana is studying Media Relations, Adrian and his friends are doing soccer and I'm studying Arts. Tiana has become a really amazing friend to me. She is also my best friend. Lucy and Abigail went to Yale after high school but we still talk all the time. Adrian is an amazing boyfriend. He supports me in everything and he's always there for me.

Kate is the best thing that ever happened to me. Being in her life as her adopted daughter is a blessing. She never made me feel like I am her adopted daughter, she treats me like her own flesh and blood. She's has done so much for me. She's filled the mother role that I really needed in my life and I'm just honoured to call her my Mom.

Her companies are doing great. She had given up on true love and relationships until she met the businessman Angelo Saunders at a business function couple months ago and he changed her mind. Now they are engaged to be married this Christmas and I'm so excited. Angelo is an amazing man and he's a very good listener. I can talk to him anytime about anything and he understands.

"Hey baby! You ready to go?" I heard Adrian shouted snapping me out my thoughts.

"Yea. Where's Tiana and the boys?" I asked getting into his car.

"Oh, they already left. Tiana said you should call her later", he said.

"Okay", I said.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yea of course".

"Okay".

When we got to my house I kissed him and told him bye then went inside.

"I'm home!" I shouted walking into the hallway when I heard footsteps on the stairs and then I saw Tyrell all dressed.

"Hey sis! Bye sis!" He said grinning walking past me.

"Whoa! Hold up. Where you going in such a hurry?" I asked and he stopped.

"I'm going to see Chris Brown live in concert tonight with Tasha", he said smiling. Tasha is his girlfriend.

"Really? You got tickets?" I asked enthusiastically.

"Yea. I do. And I gotta go", he said.

"Okay. Have fun", I said smiling.

"That's the plan lil sis", he said grinning then left.

I went up to my room and pack out my things then I took a shower. After that I went downstairs to the dining room and that's when I saw Mom and Angelo laughing and talking.
