I spray some perfume on my wrists and rub them together.
Daniel was actually taking me out on our first date.
On this special occasion, I wore a coral dress that goes down to my knees, and a golden belt around my waist. I have a matching bracelet and necklace, with coral shoes. I didn't want to be too fancy. We weren't even together yet.
That, and also I don't want to send the wrong message.
We're just friends.
Right?
I hear a knock on my door.
I turn the knob to see Daniel.
He's wearing a dark blue polo shirt and a black leather jacket.
His pants are black, and his shoes are white.
He stares for a minute.
"You look astonishing." He says before kissing my head.
"Thank you. Not too bad yourself." I reply with a smile.
He wraps his arms around me, holding me in a hug.
"Ready to go?" He says after a minute or two.
I nod.
As we walk to the car, Daniel skips ahead and opens the passenger seat.
I smile graciously before hopping inside.After the 30 minute ride . . . . .
We arrive at the beach just when the sun is starting to set. "There's no one here." I say in disbelief.
He leans in closer, his lips brushing my ear and whispers, "That's why I brought you here."
My eyes widen and a smile sets on my face. It's no wonder why I fell for this boy.
I wrap my arms around him and pull him in for a kiss.
I never want to let him go.
Once I pry him off me, we sit on the beach, near the water.
He opens a basket to reveal food.
No.
He did not just take me on a picnic date at the beach.
My smile breaks into a grin.
More evidence that this man was something more . . . .
We spend the night talking, laughing and kissing.
"It's getting dark." I say, staring at the starry night sky.
"Which is perfect." He replies with a smile, looking at the sky.
I raise an eyebrow. What?
He holds his hands in mine and looks me straight in the eyes.
"Avery? Will you be my girlfriend?"
I softly peck him on the lips, before looking at the starry night sky.
"I wouldn't want it any other way." I whisper.
